Remarks

Ranking, city, curriculum, freedom of selecting any course from any department irrespective of program of admission, good hostel and mess, active placement cell, heritage institution, mou with foreign universities, fees is almost negligible amd is deducted from stipend of 12400 every few months

Course Curriculum Overview

Syllabus up to date with global best practices and up and coming technology. Students can avail cources from any department to fulfil course credits. Industrial exposure depends on department but is adequately available. Facilties hold doctorates from esteemed universities in India and abroad and have several papers to their names.

Course Fees: INR 18000 per year

Internships Opportunities

Internships are compulsory and placement cell assists. Depending on the profile stipend range between 20000 and 100000

Placements are good. IISc has several notable alumni including Sudha Murthy, Vikram Sarabhai and APJ Abdul Kalam. The institute incubates student startups in various fields. Placement packages are 1000000 upwards.

College Events

Extracurricular activities are not that extensive but institute has cultural fests. Participation in prestigious technical fests are common. Campus life is demanding but students enjoy the natural beauty.

Fees and Financial Aid

Institute pays stipend to pg and phd students that cover tution, hostel, mess and are still excess. Students do not need any financial support.

Campus Life

WiFi available in public spaces. Gymkhana offers a number of outdoor and indoor sports. Access to huge collection of books and journals in library and popular libraries. Labs have access to latest softwares and world class equipments for research into upcoming areas.

Hostel Facilities

Single rooms for pg students. Rooms are clean and spacious and hostels have no curfew. Bed, closet, study table, desk, locker, mirror available in the rooms. Some hostels have private balcony attached to the rooms.

Good College with Supportive Faculty and Decent Placements

Placement Experience:

Placements at RNS Institute of Technology are good. Students become eligible for campus placements from the 6th or 7th semester. Many companies visit the college, including IT and core companies. Some of the common recruiters include TCS, Infosys, Wipro, Accenture, and a few core companies for EEE. The average package is around 3 to 5 LPA, and higher packages are also offered for top-performing students. The highest package can go much higher depending on the company. Around 70–80% of students get placed, mainly in IT roles. For EEE students, core placements are limited, but there are good opportunities in software roles. The college also provides training and support for placements. After completing my degree, I plan to get placed in a good company and build my career.

Good learning experience with Decent Internships opportunities

Placement Experience:

Placement in my college is decent, wiyh around 90% of students are getting placed. Students usually become eligible for placement in their final year and the college provides internships opportunities before that, which helps in gaining experience. Many companies visit to campus mainly from marketing and sales, along with some roles in HR and operations. The number of offer is good but option for finance and analytic are comparatively limited.

Placement Experience:

Most of the students get placed from the campus placements. Students get eligible for campus placements from the fifth semester. Companies like HP, Infosys, Wipro come for recruiting and make offers from 3L per annum to 30 L per annum. Around 70 percent of the students get placed through campus placement. I plan on working for a dream company after completing my degree.

Life at IISc- Pros and Cons

Placement Experience:

Most of the students after completing four years, continue to stay here to get Masters degree after one more year and pursue PhD from world renowned institutions. Very few people (<7/100) per batch will sit for campus placements and most of them will be selected with a good annual package of 30000 at an average. Some students, mostly Physocs majors can give government exams like ICRB, GATE to join ISRO and BARC as scientists

IISc at a glance: An Institute with a Legacy of Excellence

I applied to IISER Kolkata and got accepted. The choice was governed by IISc having a better ranking and being further away from home. No. I did not apply to any other colleges. Right now, officially, the two entry exams are JEE-Adv and IAT. In the past, KVPY, JEE-M and NEET were also options. For M tech in civil engineering you just need to have bachelors degree in relevant field and a valid gate score. Gate cutoff keeps on varying so can't tell exact number but for general category student gate score should be above 750. Application fee for Mtech is Rs 800 for General/OBC/EWS. Life at IISc- Pros and Cons

Eligibility Should have passed 12th class or similar examination with Mathematics and two of Physics/Chemistry/Biology with 60% marks. Should have qualified atleast one of JEE Mains/ JEE Advanced/ KVPY(not there since last year)/ IAT/NEET in the year of admission These exams are held once every year. Difficulty level IAT<JEE MAINS< JEE ADVANCED for people inclined towards maths and NEET and IAT are almost at the same difficulty for people inclined towards biology but IAT has all PCMB subjects while NEET has only PCB The admission process is not that complicated.
