Remarks
Gokhale College is a very well renowned College under Calcutta university. A lot of people had suggested me to get admission to this College as the College and the departments are pretty good. Especially the english Department here is very well managed having great faculty members. Besides that the College is very well disciplined and decent. We have a small but sufficient ground and a common room too.
Course Curriculum Overview
I am studying under Calcutta university CBCS system Syllabus. The syllabus is very big and difficult to be completed within 6 months. Teachers help a lot to finish every bit of the syllabus within time. Inspite of being lengthy the course curriculum provides detailed and indepth knowledge about the subject. The faculty in our department are very well trained and helpful.
Placement Experience
Though I'm a 2nd year student, still I can tell that atleast 15-20 students every year get placements from our College. TCS visits here every year. The final year students get placement jobs. Minimum salary is INR 10,000 which according to me is a pretty good salary monthly. The placement process is also very smooth from what I have heard and a lot of alumni association members help students get placed. Overall as a rookie the jobs are very good.
College Events
Though we have a small playground for chilling in free periods, the campus life is not that boring. We all sit and chat and roam within that less space quite well. Infact College allows us to visit other places around the College when we have free time. The management in our College is very active and wonderful as they arrange a lot of programme's and events every now and then. Sports day, annual function, Freshers fairwell, NSS programmes, Exhibitions, Cultural Events, workshops happen every month. We also have a very big auditorium in our College. The events are pretty big and joyful where we all including the teachers and other staffs take part whole heartedly.
