Remarks

My university, JNU is so far the best college I've ever heard of. Apart from the critics about being an anti-national University.

Course Curriculum Overview

The course curriculum is set very wisely. Since my course is a dual degree program, the syllabus for masters is also covered together. The exams are conducted in lecture halls, with good seating arrangements. Since IITD is just in the opposite, placement cells won't have difficulty finding us.

Placement Experience

3.5

Since, school of engineering is new in JNU, and there's only 2 batches, no placement has occurred yet. However, seminars are conducted where officials from MNCs come and explain the future processes with students.

College Events

4.5

JNU celebrates all types of festivals. Like hostel nights conducted for different hostels at different dates. Christmas to holi, diwali, ganesh chaturthi etc. Numerous people join and participate in anything the organizers do. It's fun to watch every festival being celebrated.

Fee Structure And Facilities

Fee Structure is transparent and is available in the website. Though fees of our engineering department is quite higher than other departments, it is quite feasible. Hostel fees are higher than other departments, while mess fees remains the same which is to be paid every month.

Fees and Financial Aid

No, for engineering students, no scholarship is being provided by the college. However, other departments' students are provided with some.

Campus Life

Campus Life is very good in JNU. With no curfew timings for library, hostels, one can explore and have fun with the nature with plenty of trees and different animals too. For the whole University, gender ratio is almost equal. However in my batch, boy to girl ratio is 30:1. Ragging is strictly prohibited and I can proudly say that JNU is one of the best place and safest place in delhi. Different workshops are also conducted frequently, some free and some paid. Different departments have labs to test , experiment and learn.

Hostel Facilities

Yes, we have a total of 18 hostels all named on rivers. We pay the hostel fees twice a year. We have 1sharing, 2sharing, 3sharing and 4sharing rooms. There are dormitories as well in some hostels where quite a large no. Of students stay together.

Alumni/Alumna

The seniors are quite helpful but not always. Since my seniors were the first batch, they had noone to guide them. The alumni's can be helpful but I never interacted with one.

Admission

Through JEE mains after plus 2. Further, counselling is held where you have an option to select different colleges. When you have only JNU in mind, list it at the top. JNU is a university with a lot of extra curricular activities. I'm not really focused on engineering, so I want to explore more.

Faculty

4

The faculties are top class. They are either from IITs or studied from other countries. They share every knowledge possible, and are always available for the students. Some of them teach in another colleges too. They manage their time to do a great job.

The placement in my college for my course BBA pretty good. The college is also Offers internship opportunities. We can expect an average package of around 3 to 4 lakhs per annum for BBA. The students become eligible for campus placements from fourth semester onward. Some of the companies that have visited our colleges include KPMG Deloitte. The education tree, the highest package that someone got from our college was of around 60 lakhs and the profile offered to him was in finance. The percentage of students getting placements are around 8290%. My plans after getting this degree includes to do a post graduation in the fields of business only and then get

Placement Experience:

There is a placement cell within the colleges but numerous are not dynamic and those who are dynamic do not offer great arrangements. As it were Srcc , LSR or St. Stephens offer pleasant placements. Most colleges offer arrangements between 3 - 4 lacs but over said colleges can give you situations with normal 8 lacs. But, I would prescribe you to not go for placements but higher things because it will increment your information and assist you to advance in your work and do it effectively whereas doing work fair after graduation will not allow you to regard merely continuously needed in the corporate world.
