Remarks

I chose this College because Christ offers vast exposure to the course for which I applied (MSW). Though the College is a bit strict for its rules and regulations, morals and discipline are very essential for growth. The admission process includes a paper-pen test which contains questions regarding basic knowledge about the course and after that, an interview. Both will be conducted on the same day. My interview was in May. I referred to many websites and YouTube videos that gave proper details about the campus and the course.

Course Curriculum Overview

4

I chose this course because I think I have the skills and qualities of a social worker and I want to use that for the betterment of the environment where I live in, but also want impact the areas which are beyond my boundaries. There are 8 to 10 faculty members who are very kind and supportive. They do their best to help us understand the concept and guides us to explore more in the field of social work. There are 130 students in the department of Social work from my batch, including HR. Each and every faculty have completed their doctorate and have work experience for many years. They help us to understand the concepts with the help of PowerPoint presentation, webinars, interactive sessions, bringing new topics which are beyond the syllabus. The exams were on time as the given schedule which was given to us beforehand. The exams were quite difficult with few indirect questions, but the questions were based on our understanding and how we apply our knowledge about a particular concept.

Internships Opportunities

4.5

As Christ has good long connections with various NGOs in different States, then helps the students to find NGOs that can meet the learning requirements and explore for the students. NGOs such as the Association of People with Disabilities, the Red Cross, and so on. Faculties guide the students to complete their internships and training with complete satisfaction.

Placement Experience

3.5

From the third semester, the students become eligible for campus selection and students are given support from the faculty members to join certain NGOs to work with. This makes the students develop their skills and learn new things by working with them. Students often end up working with these NGOs after finding the experience with them as productive. But Christ doesn't have many placements for the MSW course.

Fees and Financial Aid

The fee of MSW per year is 88,500. There are various scholarship opportunities for students. There are special scholarships for children of army people. Though College does offer any particular job but makes the students capable to take up any job or internship which will pay them.

Campus Life

4.5

The campus will be engaged with many fests conducted by various departments and this makes the campus atmosphere more lively for the students. Ethnic day, arts fest, psychology fest, and various other events by other extracurricular programs such as Christ Social Action, Christ Online Writing Lab, and so on. Christ Online Writing Lab helps students to develop their skills and personality skills. It aims to create interactive learning sessions for students.

Course Curriculum Overview:

Some papers need to be updated and should include topic related to current issues and more discussions are need to be conducted in the classroom that improves the critical thinking of the students. For Social Work course field exposure is very relevant and important to increase the knowledge of the trainee. But the department is not providing any field exposure to the trainees according to their specializations. The only field experience students are getting from the one month block placement/ internship, but that is not enough for the students.
