Remarks

Reviews and ranking, known for the course I wanted to pursue. The faculty is really good and helpful here and the environment is good and healthy. I had a liking for Biology since school and wanted to go deeper into it. And I found study of microbes an interesting subject to study

Course Curriculum Overview

The course syllabus is updated from time to time to keep at par with national and international standards. I personally found the syllabus quite interesting. The faculty is really knowledgeable and helpful.

Course Fees: INR 50000 per year

Placement Experience

The placements are good and depends on the course. Students pursuing courses like bsc computer science easily get into reputed companies like Infosys while some courses may require Msc degree too to get a good placement.

College Events

Every year there is cultural festival which lasts for around 7 days and consists of various days like traditional day, formal day, stage performances, games and stalls organised by various departments, exhibition,etc.

Campus Life

It has sports like badminton,swimming, tennis, etc. Inter college sports competitions are organised frequently. Wifi for office purpose only. 1 Central and few departmental libraries. Labs well equipped with all the necessary requirements.

Hostel Facilities

It's a private hostel. The rooms are shared among 3people. It's easy if the accommodation is available and we are capable to pay the fees. All the facilities-food, travel, laundry, cleaning,games,gym are provided.

The curriculam is designed for all round development of the student and to make that person an expert in that field, these aspects influeneced me to choose it. Very well, with extra paper of real world application on each subject it ensures that we take something from the course and become industry ready The teachings methods and cirriculam are excellent I don't think any changes are required Exams are all year round, every month and are extremly difficult to deal with, as Xavier's bar is very high.

Course curriculum is also good and it is explained in detail on the college's website and there are labs for the courses which made learning fast and easy. Relevance(industry alignment)->8/10 The curriculum is designed to keep up with the industry needs especially in fast growing fields like computer science, management, design and pharmacy. Updated course such as AI, machine learning, cybersecurity, data science and 3D printing are included for tech students. Industry exposure depends on the students initiative it's not equally strong in every department. Comprehensiveness-> 7.5/10 First year courses focus on building strong basics in science, mathematics and communication skills. Later semesters introduce specialisation, electives, research projectsand soft skill training. The curriculum also includes personality development, entrepreneurship and innovation modules. A few departments could integrate new technologies fatser into the syllabus. Practical v/s theoretical balance: Labs, workshops and real world projects are a core part of the structure, especially in engineering, design, and science programs. The hostel fee structure for Fergusson College differ for male and female students. The hostel fee for male and female students is around INR 43000 and INR 70000 respectively. Mess fee is paid separately and it is arounf INR 3000 per month.

Life at fergusson

I applied to only 2 colleges as my first preference was fergusson. So I only appied to fergusson and garware college. I got selected there too but as I got selected at fergusson while I was in dilemma whether to pay fees of garware or not , I decided to give fergusson a chance. So for admission process, they took an entrance exam for which we had to pay Rs. 800/- as processng fees of application and exam. So after giving exam the scorelist came and on the basis of that cutoff was decided for various categories. A campus life you must live once in your life - Fergusson College

I had heard a lot about Fergusson College in my school time, somewhere deep down I had always wished to come here and study also i did my bachelors from the same college so it was obvious for me to choose this place . Also FC has amazing faculty members which made me choose it. I gave the entrance test on an online platform for my masters course got second in the list and went straight for the admission process within a week after results were out. I had applied to Modern College as well and got my admission confirmed also but because i got into FC I did not do any further process for modern college. The admission process goes smooth , once the results are out we are called to the college for document verification and regitrations, then fee payment and college starts.
