I got my addmision on merit basis. My score was 76% after HSC. I chose this college because of its heritage and quality of education. Its a prestigious college holding position of one of the top colleges in Mumbai.

Course Curriculum Overview

4.5

The curriculum is well structured. Most of the research work happens in collaboration with institutes like IIT, TIFR. The faculty is best of its lot. Supportive, encouraging and well read.

Internships Opportunities

Interned at skyquest india pvt.ltd. Internship was very normal. Learnt a lot about clinical trials. But would have chosen a different place if possible. There was no stipend.

Placement cell in our collegewas hardly active in 2011. However 5-10 companies came to campus.

College Events

Kaleidoscope- biggest cultural festival of Mumbai. Footfall of around 20000 students. Endorsed and sponsored by big MNCs.

Fees and Financial Aid

Fees is very affordable due to being a government college. No scholarships as such.

Campus Life

Campus life is excellent, beautiful campus, huge library, gym, canteen, garden. Extracurricular are very good.there are more than 20 clubs in the college for different activities

Hostel Facilities

Hostels are clean, basic. Room sharing is 2, 3, or 5 per room based on the age and course. Hostel fees is 60000/annum. Mess food is above average and with a lot of variety. Pgs around college come up to 8000 per month.

External Expense: Rs. 4000 - Rs. 7000

Afforadable Eduction with Decent Opportunites

Course Curriculum Overview:

the course culicurumes of collage of mangemnet of compter science , yavatmal is revalvent and provied good foundation in computer science concept. the curriculum is helpfiul for understanding theoretical concept and basic pratical skills. it prepares student for entry-lavel jobs and further studies like msc or mca,however ,it is more focused on traditionla topices and lacks exposure to morden technolokkgies such as cloud computing , data science, and advance fremworks which are importent in todays industry. the teachinf methods are mostly classroom- based with practical session in labs. overall, the curriculum is decent but needs update to match current industry demands.

From which semester students become maximum students are placement.company name I don't know I no experience , highest package is 15LPA and average is 5 to 6LPA , then percentage of placements students is 50% to 60%percentage students are playes.

The best place to get admission

Placement Experience:

Students who completed their masters are eligible for placements. Companies include Pharma, Biotech, R&d, agri companies, food industries, we can apply there. Well from 3rd semester students can apply and visit different companies previously, haidrabad, banglore are visited by our seniors. Students get salary of 30000-40000 ,there are students selected for multiple high rated companies. 30-40% Students get placed. I want to pursue Phd from India as I am more focus in research.

Life at fergusson

Placement Experience:

Students are eligible for campus placements from 3rd semester. I am going to start the process now from june. The companies such as springCT, Josh, Omniscient, Bluepineapple,etc. come for campus placements. Some companies make offers in lot or some lpick only 2/3. Almost all students get internships. In 4th semester we have to do internship compulsory. Average package is 7lpa if its a job offer if its an internship the it is lesser.

Course Curriculum Overview:

I choose this course this very high on demand and i know about these course very well and i have interest in these course. Teacher prepare me for the real world for the special application of practical and internship provided in college for getting experience of that course. There should be have extra classes before the exam. Exam timings are very challenging you have to be present in exam on time. And aslo you should be able to manage the time as per the questions. The timing of approx each paper is 2.30 hours to complete the paper

A campus life you must live once in your life - Fergusson College

Placement Experience:

Placements in Fergusson are pretty good. Students are eligible for sitting in the placement drives from the 3rd semester, we also get Pre-placment activities and tests before the drive starts. We get companies like Axtria, Vois , bluepineapple etc on campus. The highest package is 10 - 12 lakhs and 4-6 lakhs on an average. In my batch out of the 30 people we 20 are placed so far on campus.

Placement Experience:

After the last semester's exams, students are eligible to face campus placements and go to jobs. Vsi sugar factory, Carlsberg, United Breweries, Beverage companies and many sugar factories come for interviews or jobs. They offer various roles for a career. The highest package offered by companies is about ten lakhs. The average package is near 5 lakhs. Near 90% percentage students got placement in college. I'm going for further studies in Banglore with a part-time job in a brewery.

PG not given any campus you will get a job on your ability. We have to prepare for set net after MSc but there are some companies visited college like Wipro. They provide job but the salary is around 25000 per month.

Great Haven to Break From Your Shell

In Mumbai, Sophia at least has a bit of greenery and space. It has a central lawn and a nice environment. I chose this college for the name it holds and its alumni. I was also happy with the course i was granted here. I did apply to two other colleges but did not get the subjects i wanted. To get admission in Sophia, you have to register in the Mumbai University site first and then in the Sophia College For Women official site. After that, all notices will be sent to the registered email. The merit list will also be mailed. There are 3 merit lists, and they come out with gaps of around 1 to 2 weeks. The first list usually consists of previous alumni of the college who have done their JC there, those who have scored well in their 12th boards and the ones under Christian reservations. The second list consists of the ones coming after the ones who scored well for their 12th boards in sequence, and those looking to avail hostel seatings in the college. The remaining are in the third list. After this, an amount will be needed to be paid as adimission fees to secure your admission to the college....Read More
