The College, that campus, and the crowd

Somaiya is good college to learn and enjoy the faculties . It has a campus life which u can njoy . The Maggie house , the green benches, the amphitheatre, aurobindo, sk Somaiya college, Kj Somaiya . Etc so would have a nice time if u utilize it well .

I gave MAH MCA CET for doing MCA from Somaiya college . It is very easy to get into a good college through mca cet but the course is a difficult one . As one of my sir had said . It's easy to crack mca cet and get into a good college but the course is difficult, whereas of mba cet the picture is other way around.

As Somaiya is autonomous now. It is experimenting regarding its course. I wont say that the course is well structured its still in its experimental stages. So I would suggest u to study more or research more. Before any decisions. Cause a college can make or break ur career upto a greater level . So choose wisely.

Yes they provide internship. Companies like Morgan Stanley, Accenture, TCS, Infosys, justdial, pi technologies, directi, wisdmlabs, monster instinct etc have visited the campus.

Many events are celebrated in Somaiya . Famous events like melange, icon, bech daal, abhiyantriki etc are the main events that attract many people from all the colleges in Mumbai . Various alumni events are also organized by the college and are widely applauded by the ex students.

Fee structure is on the higher side as u might expect . After all it is the college where gujjus are given priority . But u can expect for the fee structure to be this high in a masters level programme . Over 1 lakh per year for mca . That would mean over 3 lakh for whole course. Which is quite high for a mca programme which doesn't guarentee a high salaried job unless u have knowledge.

Scholarships are offered based on the caste or qualification u have . Scholars are notably offered good scholarships and are an asset to the college . Loan is offered if u don't want to pay the fees through cash.

Hostel faculties are quite good they have a set of rules for various processes . They celebrate various festival together. There is a good bond omg those people. Ragging has never happened in the premisess of the college because there is a student commitee that looks in all the matters regarding various issues that hostelites face .

Almuni comitee has been established for the matters regarding the alumni network . Senior students can be contacted through various sourses and every one is helpful regarding everything.

Exam structure is based upon college. 50 marks for internals and 50 for external exam. The exams are chilled out and u have ample of time to prepare, labs are cool . Nice facilities, upgraded systems, configs etc . U can study in the lab if u get bored in the library.

Faculties are well experienced. They have a thorough understanding about the course. But the way they make students understand is not that convenient. There Teaching methodologies differ and may or may not be convenient to some people . But overall a good faculty and a experienced one.
