IIM Ranchi is one of the Top 20 B-Schools in the country. Despite the lack of a permanent campus, the Institute is functioning par excellence. The academic rigour, teaching pedagogy, industry exposure, countless Clubs and Committees are just a few of the driving factors behind choosing this college. On the placement front, the college is ahead of many similar B-schools in the same league.

The course curriculum has been designed keeping in mind the industry requirements and are regularly updated. IIM Ranchi provides significant industry exposure to its students, preparing us well for the corporate world. Our faculty members are from renowned institutions with several years of exemplary experience. They possess both industry and academic experience which equips students with the best learning experience. We have regular seminars, sessions and workshops to interact with industry stalwarts and garner maximum industry knowledge.

More than 100 Companies participated in the latest Placement Process (Batch of 2018-2020) including Google, Tata Steel, ICICI, JPMC, GAIL, IBM, HP, L&T, RPG, Samsung, Sony Pictures, Capgemini, Emami, etc. The Companies offered diverse profile roles in the areas of Marketing, Finance, Consulting, IT & Analytics, General Management, Operations and Human Resource Management. Some prominent profiles offered were Business Analyst, Product Management, Brand Manager, Business Strategist, Management Consulting, Investment Analyst, Wealth Management, Corporate Banking, Asset Management, Operations Management, HR Consultant, Talent Acquisition, etc. A total of 248 students were placed (MBA : 181, MBA-HR : 67). The college has a dedicated committee for networking with its alumni – the Alumni & International Relations Committee. IIM Ranchi's E-Cell conducts Entrepreneurship Summits and Startup Workshops to nurture and promote a culture of entrepreneurship among the students.

The various student Clubs at IIM Ranchi organise major events throughout the year. The highlight of these events are RADIX - Business Conclave and AGON - Management Festival. Other than these two major events, a variety of other events and competitions are conducted through the year. Both Inter and Intra College competitions are held by different student clubs, such as Brainstorm, Symvoulous, Art Of War, Marcase, Agora, Squiz, Plutus, Open Outcry and many others. The HR Conclave by Club Hire and the Entrepreneurship Summit by E-Cell are also major highlights of the college.

Various banks provide loan at low interest rates to IIM Ranchi students such as Union Bank, Central Bank of India, State Bank of India and Punjab National Bank.

IIM Ranchi currently operates through a temporary campus located at Suchana Bhawan, Ranchi. The student hostels are located at Khelgaon, the venue for the 34th National Games. Both the academic Block and the Hostels are WiFi-enabled. The library is well-equipped with a mixed collection of print and electronic resources.

MBA being a residential program, the Hostel Facilities at IIM Ranchi are mandatory for all students. The Student Block located at Khelgaon offers best-in-class housing facilities to the students. There are separate blocks for girls and boys, wherein each student is provided with single occupancy rooms as part of the 3/4 BHK Flats. These separate flats have a common area as well for students to work together on any group activity. The students are provided with regular housekeeping services. The Student Block is entirely WiFi-enabled and houses a mess, a canteen and a dispensary. Apart from these, there is the Common Room which includes indoor games, a Fitness Centre, a Conference Room and also a fully-equipped Music Room.
