What Students Say
Likes
- There are many aspects that i liked, the management was good. Since the college has only girls a safe environment can be found there.
- The faculty members are highly educated and has good amount of expertise in their respective subjects. Their communication is good, the try to connect with the students and try to teach us in a very simplified way to make us understand everything
- Career-oriented counsellings do take place but the college doesn't provide any placement since it is regular college with different courses offered in it. The infrastructure of the campus is really nice, its very spacious and safe as well
Dislikes
- The staffs sometimes do not do their respective duties properly, they keep delaying for absolutely no reason, not always but sometimes
- Their aren't any cafeteria or canteens in the college, it would've been easier if there was any since a lot of students live alone so they don't get the time to do their breakfast , lunch at times.
- There should more extra curricular which needs to be conducted, the academic area is well and good but this area also needs to be focused sometimes.
Course Curriculum Overview
Initially, I chose English Honours because I thought it would be a very easy subject. However, once I took admission and started studying it, I realized how deep and theoretical it is. When I read about the poets, their life stories, and the era they lived in, I became deeply fascinated. My interest in the subject kept growing, and that is why I chose this field."My English and vocabulary have also become much stronger after taking English Honours. I am truly grateful for this."The existing teaching methodology was effective and satisfactory; therefore, no modifications were necessary."
Fees and Financial Aid

Fees of Commerce and science students were a little extra then the arts one. Since i belong to ST category i use to fill e-kalyan scholarship from the government of jharkhand every year untill my graduation was finished. The amount of the scholarship was based on the fee structure of each stream accordingly.
Campus Life
I feel the department falls short regarding extracurricular engagement. As previously noted, there should be a greater emphasis on college fests and events. Such activities are necessary to provide students with a mental break from their rigorous academic schedule."The college lacks infrastructure for student social groups or digital portals. Although access to the library and academic journals was provided, it is insufficient for overall development. There is a need for more diverse activities to ensure student engagement."
Admission
"Nirmala College was my first and only choice for graduation. I was drawn to its esteemed reputation for academic rigor and the supportive environment of an all-girls campus. I value the structured learning and the quality of study materials provided here, which I believe sets it apart from other institutions." Admission to Nirmala College does not require an entrance examination. Selection is strictly based on merit, determined by your Intermediate results after you submit your application."
Faculty
The faculty-to-student ratio is quite good. I was in the English Department, and my experience with all the teachers and professors was excellent. All the professors were highly educated; they were all doctors (PhDs) in their respective fields and were true experts in their subjects. I liked all my teachers, and I am not being biased toward anyone." Each year consisted of two semesters, and typically, one semester lasted for six months, with exams held at the end of that period. However, classes didn't always run for the full six months. Sometimes, to maintain the academic session, exams were conducted within just four months, which was completely fine."
Night Life
The lack of an on-campus cafeteria posed a significant challenge. Since many students commute or live in hostels and have early classes, they often arrive without meals. Although external food stalls are available, an internal canteen would be more convenient and hygienic. Furthermore, the college lacks recreational facilities such as a gym."To be fair, there are good places to hang out right outside the gate. Plus, the campus itself has enough space for us to sit, chat, and eat together during breaks, which I really appreciate. I’m not complaining about the space, but having an actual cafeteria would have been a great addition." "As for late-night life at the college, I wouldn't know since I wasn't a hosteller. My day ended when classes were over, and I'd head home."
