The answer of this question is Jagannath Barooah College is 1st and best college of upper Assam. The teaching quality of this college is very good that NAAC give this college A grade. Moreover the college is autonomous.

Course Curriculum Overview

Our course syllabus is not so much good. The syllabus is exam depand syllabus, not learning besis. Our college has excellent guest faculties. Many famous personalities comes as guest faculties in our college every year.

Placement Experience

Jagannath Barooah College has excellent placement and job opportunity. Many students get jobs after passed out in the job fairs held by our college. Other hand many ex students now studying in Assam and India's top university's.

College Events

Our college has two campus, commerce department campus and main campus. Both are beautiful and campus life is enjoyable. Our college every year organize a nine days long fest named Anirvana. In Anirvana many events include cultural, literature, sports etc. events held where all students can perform.

Course Curriculum Overview:

The course curriculum is very relevant and is different for different branches according to their needs. I was interested in civil engineering and chose the course and find the curriculum intersting and relevant for me . The curriculum offers subject which are important for real world applications, like in civil engineering it's offers subjects like building construction, solid mechanics, fluid mechanics, material testing, serving, etc. The course curriculum is very good but the teaching methods needs improvement like more digitalization . The exams frequency and timings are neither too late nor too early, they are perfectly planned and executed.

Life in GIPS

Placement Experience:

In the 8th semister, students will eligible for campus placement. Our college will organize campus placement. Where different companies come and if you pass the interview then you will get the job. Companys like sun pharma, Ajanta pharma will come. And they have different requirements. In starting you will get 2.5 lakhs of the package and other offers are there. In GIPS most of the students get the placement. My plan after b pharm is I will study for M pharm in GIPS.

About my college

Remarks:

I didn't have any negative remarks until last year. So there was a mistake on my form fill up. I put the right details and selected my subjects. I have selected English as my MIL and submitted my form. But when I get the admit card I got to know that my MIL subject was selected as Assamese which I never selected. Then in the examination I gave the ex for English and didn't gave for Assamese as my subjects wasn't Assamese. I told the teacher who signed my examination copy he told that it will be fixed but on the results day I got to know that it was marked as absent in the MIL exam because I didn't sit for the Assamese examination which I did because I was English student. Then I asked them they said to get my sessional exam marks from the HOD of English department. I went to the HOD and she said that the copy in which they put the records is with the commerce head so I went to him. He said he didn't have the copy and told me to get to the HOD I went back to HOD she said she didn't have the copy. Both of them didn't have the copy for which I didn't able to fix the problem. It's not cool.

This college is one of ancient college of Assam. Which was open during British era almost. A Dream - JAGANNATH BAROOAH UNIVERSITY.

Yes, I actually applied in Tezpur university in Bachelor's in English as it's one of my biggest dream to study in it. But my application got rejected , actually not rejected, when we had completed our 12th , there are as lot's of competition among students and the Mark's they obtain was much. So in Tezpur university the cutoff mark was approximately 93. As a result of which I've unable to get the admission. In our university, the admission process is simple. Firstly the student who wish to apply, must have to visit Samarth education portal, there they have to given the required details with their documents. After they've selected, our respected team will call them regarding admission.
