Akankshya's Review On Odisha University Of Technology And Research-[OUTR], Bhubaneswar

I wanted to study in odisha and that too in a govt college, so I checked online and found out, in Bbsr only my college is providing B tech biotechnology(p.s I wanted to study in govt. college). So it's got good reviews online, and some of my friends were studying there and so I decided to study there.

Course syllabus is well updated and good. But the quality of teaching is not up to the mark, at least in my branch. some teachers were good, but some teachers only used to take few classes n finish the syllabus. What mattered was to complete the syllabus. Attendence was strict but only for students, teachers when feel like they come to class otherwise we had to do self study. And about labs we have equipments but our lab assistant did not let us use them properly, so basically u have to do everything on your own being it studying or doing practical.

We have training internships in first n second yr, it was a paid internship in Global Biotechnology(msme). And other internships we get in 3rd yr for which we may or may not get stipend.

Many renowned company visit our college like TCS, Wipro, Accenture, Microsoft etc. Placement department works really nicely, we have placement coordinators, alumni coordinator, and we also have alumni meet every year.

Campus life is amazing here, technical fests( mostly in Feb) are amazing, we also have sports fest n the best cultural fests(in March). they are organized on a big scale, participators comes from different colleges. And hence it is so much fun. We have star nights and musical evenings. And also we have our own concert's by our various clubs.

Scholarship are there like, medhavriti, PMSS, NMS( provided by college). Etc About loans I don't have that much knowledge but there are some schemes available though.

Infrastructure of our college is nice, we have a big sports ground, badminton n tennis court, volley n basketball court, cricket ground, stage etc. WiFi is the best thing about our college campus. The speed is great n we can use it in hostels also. We have one main library n a textbook bank, apart from this we have department reading rooms where there are books provided related to the particular branch. Every Equipment we require is available, but it is not that easily accessible, also we have an AI lab.

I live in the hostel which is inside our campus. For a girl student if she opts for hostel she is most likely to get it. For boys it's a bit difficult to get Hostel accommodation. For boys there are many private hostels around the college. Hostel infrastructure is great, we have gym, dinning room, library/reading room, meeting hall and compound area for functions. In girls hostel we have aqua guards in each floors n also washing machines. Each hostel has its own mess facilities. Food is good( like not better than mummy ke haath ka khana). 3times meal a day n evening u can get snacks n milk from canteen both in college n hostel. There is inn time for girls hostel, n boys hostel don't have inn time. There is parking space in Hostels for personal vehicle n also a mo cycle stand near hotels.
