Remarks

I expected my admission in other NITs but I got my seat in NIT Srinagar. Though the palce is superb but NIT Srinagar is not up to the mark. The number of students are also less in my department. I had no other option than joining this college.

Course Curriculum Overview

Professors in Mechanical Engineering were cooperative and considerate. Student-Teacher ratio is 6:1 which is not so bad. Yes, we did have industrial training. The curriculum, like in all NITs, is archaic and not upto the new developments in respective fields.

Class Size: 18Course Fees: INR 525000 per year

Placement Experience

Placements are pretty decent, but students should not expect more. Our previous 2 batches have seen good numbers and percentage selections, but things are pretty uncertain in Kashmir. Maximum placements are for the branches of IT, and CSE followed by ECE, mechanical, and other departments.

College Events

Events and fests are conducted rarely and also they are below average. Extracurricular activities are not conducted more. There is an annual fest organised in the college where students from other college also visit the event.

Campus Life

Wi-Fi, classroom, hostel, medical and spots al, l the facilities are fine. Labs are too good. Food is an issue here or not good. The hostel room are very fine. No canteens issue, there are 4 canteen available, but hostel mess food is not so good. no infrastructure issue. All the facilities are available, the library is also fine.

NIT Sringar is beautiful!!

Placement Experience:

Marshal the placement resources so well that our college has close to 90% placement records. Siemens, ABB and such companies where ECE engineers can contribute are the companies that hires us and the average for our ECE branch is 6 lakhs or so.

Overall a good University with below average placements.

Placement Experience:

Students are eligible for placemnt after third year. total 8 companies from local Food and beverage companies and agriculture related companie came for campus placements. Most of the student didnt take offers from the companies because none of the companies were offering more than 15k to 18k per month I also didnt take the placement offer for the same reason and now i am thinking for further studies from somewhere that have good placements Out of 23 students who were eligible for placements only 3 accepted the offer.

Is Nit Srinagar worth it?

Placement Experience:

Yes my college offers placements for each branch students becomes eligible after sixth semester if they doent have any active supply in there course and very company have their own criteria to make eligble to the student for placements like cgpa etc. companies visited in civil was L&T, Tata steel, Jsw, Afcon etc and the average package was 6 lakh every company brought diffrent no. of offers average was 5 in civil highest package got to mine class crc of 1300000 that was a psu and the percentage of students got placed was 10% only. mine plans after was to prepare for goverments exams.

Is Nit Srinagar worth it?

I got this college on the basis of councellign held after jee main result before this i got Natinal institue of technology Megalya i left that beacuse of non permanent hostel facility and bad reviews from the seniors and the distance from mine hoemtown sikar(Rajasthan) even many good engineerig colleges was there in mine list but because of mine less marks in jee main and advance i am unable to get them (example : nit silchar, nit Wrangle, nit Trichy etc) but over all mine college was good according to Enviroment conditions and other parameters and the admission process was very smooth just you have to verify your documents ....Read More

As we all know that the B.Tech course is of four years and divided into eight semesters. It is offereed across 8 different specialisations including /cse, /ee, ECE, MEC, META, CIVIL, IT /cHE . The course admission is done on the basis of candidate's performance in JEE Main followed by JOSSA counselling/CSAB counselling. The allotment is donw on the basis of merit score in Je/e Main. The Eligibility Criteria is that the candiddate must qualify JEE Main and score above 75% marks in 12th. A score of 96 - 97 p;ercentile is enough for an OB/C or General student and 93% -90 perccentile for SC / ST students.
