Remarks

I didn't choose my college. I had to get in here because I scored low Marks and I had no other option. And also I think since this college is in the same place where I stayed my father preferred this college.I chose Computer science because I am good in programming. And I like coding. I thi k I will excel in it.

Course Curriculum Overview

I chose computer science and since I am interested in it, it is really interesting for me.Then all of our faculties are well qualified but then very few of them are not capable for teaching. Then they very well promote us for extra curricular activities

There r 3to 5 big companies coming to our college. But since now is a covid time, it's kind of hard. I think most of the companies look for students who do not have any back papers and and have cgpa of atleast 6. Our main company is Infosys. Last year they took around 150 students

College Events

It is more of like a school. So I am not that satisfied. But yah there are college fest which is popular in Trivandrum and many technical and cultural fest are encouraged. Then there is activities or competitions that is held within the college. then for technical aspect also they conduct extra classes. We have separate space for them.

Course Curriculum Overview:

Data Science is a rising field in computer science. It has lots of oppurtunities in todays world and easy compared to other fields, which made me choose data science. The curriculum consist of various computer programming languages including Python, R and so on which are vital in the field of data science. There are also experienced faculties for teaching of the programming languages. I personally felt that lab hours are not adequate and also the available hours are also not properly utitlised by some teachers. At the end of each semester we have exams and results are published soon as the exams are over, no lagging compared to other universitites.

Placement Experience:

we are eligible for placement from the 7th sem. Many famous and small compines vist our college. Infosys, WIPRO, TCS vist our college. But the big companies take only few student. Highest package was 1,00,000. And the average package is around 4,00,000. Almost all students gets placed from the campus .

My Experience at NIT Calicut

Course Curriculum Overview:

I would rate the EEE course curriculum around 8-8.5 /10 in terms of relevance.The curriculum provides strong fundamentals in core electrical engineering subjects and prepares students well for core jobs and higher studies.The course curriculum was revised in 2023, and our batch is the 1st batch under the new curriculum. however, there are still limited coding ,AI and data science subjects in EEE ,which could be improved. Exams are conducted times per semester and are generally moderately difficult.

Is engineering here worth it?

Placement Experience:

Students are eligible from 7th semester to sit for interviews. The pod.ai app helps us in making the resume and calculating a cgpa to appear for the intwrviews. The pod.ai registration fees is 500?. Companies such as nissan,infosys,commandtech,bimlabs,gulfasia etc has visited . And the highest package was 11 LPA and lowest was 3 LPA

I had applied for saitgaits,amal jyothi and cet. Considering cet,the fee and placements are high but the discipline and structured way is lacking.Now considering saintgaits and amal jyothi,there are more opportunities in mbcet to explore.. mbcet is also in the town and easily approachable via public transport.mbcet has a disciplined approach to studies.comparing the hostels too mbcet has one of the best hostels. I was rejected in cet for cs dept as i didnt aquire the required rank..i was accepted in both others but decided to join mbcet due to its status in society.
