Remarks

There were several reasons why I chose NIT Rourkela. Firstly it is one of the premier institutes of India. It is ranked 16 among engineering institutes by NIRF. Also the campus is well known for its infrastructure and its high standard of education. I chose mechanical engineering in NIT Rourkela as personally I was interested in course and its subjects. Also the placements of NIT Rourkela seemed exceptionally good. Also the faculty were really qualified.

Course Curriculum Overview

3.5

The course curriculum is moderate and up to date with other institutions. The lab facilities are good and well maintained although they are a bit old. Some faculties just teach through ppt and slides. While a few of them are actually really good. One such professor Mr Alok Sathpathy is the thermodynamics professor in the mechanical department.

Companies from sectors such as Analytics, FMCG, BFSI, Semiconductors, electronics, software, oil and gas, power and heavy industry, education sector visit our campus. Students are actively recruited by them. Few companies come for third years to provide them with internship opportunities.

Nit rourkela currently has a total of 11 hostels which includes 7 boys hostel, 2 girls hostel and 2 married hostel.Residents live either alone or sharing with another student. Each hostel has a garden attached to it and conducts hall fest as well as garden fest for each hostel every year. The Institute provides accommodation facilities for all students as there are very few day scholars as rourkela is a very small town. Course Curriculum Overview:

The curriculum is now updated since it became a University, so its more relevant to industry now but still we have to do extra courses for coding. Exams happen every few months—2 internals and one end-sem. They are not very easy, you actually need to study to pass without backlogs

Placement opportunities in my college are good, with students generally becoming eligible for campus placements from the pre-final or final year, depending on the course and company criteria. The college has an active placement celll that supports students by Organizing training sessions, resume building and also mock interviews.

Course Curriculum Overview:

The pedagogy is excellent since majorly learning is through real-world case studies, reserach papers, peer discussions and interactive class activities. The professors provide materials and pre-reads at the starting of the term and the content is highly focussed on practical learning. The AI sessions are enriching. The difficulty level of exams vary among the instructors but usually is aligned with topics already taught.

Course Curriculum Overview:

Well MBBS is a serving degree, if you are interested in serving the people you can choose this degree. It also needs a lot of patience, here we have classes from 7 AM so its a bit hard to wake up this early & ends at 4 PM which causes more trouble coz u won't get to rest properly, usually we end up being tired & lack of sleep, so I think this schedule can have a bit more change with regards to us children. The exams here are done very frequently, as in the class tests are taken up time to time , sometimes surprise tests are also done so u have to be very updated with what's being studied each cls.The internals are held in every trimester & at the end of the year a product exam is being held which is the important one.
