Remarks

The main reason for me to choose this collage is the location which is far from city hustles and pollution. The location is a tourist spot where you could study at peace. Coming to cons, the number of patients coming to the speciality sections are actually low compared to other collages. The college is now private but in the near future the govt is planning to take over the collage which will make the hostel and collage fees to decrease. DM WIMS provides one of the best in class hostel service to the students. Mess and accomodation is a 5/5. Admission process is via NEET exam result and large majority of seat is for the native keralites. You could enroll in the KEAM website or by spot admission during the month of June.

Course Curriculum Overview

4

I chose this course in order to serve the nation as India is not so great in healthcare sector and I would like to make a change even if that is a small one. Faculty student ratio is 1:6 almost. Faculties are all having minimum MD qualification and the teaching method are quite impressive and responsive to student enquiries. Exams of KUHS are quite hard to crack hence the exams conducted by the college at each sem are harder .

Internships Opportunities

4.5

Internship is on campus with stipend. If anyone wants more patient interaction they can apply for internship at any of the government medical collages also.

Placement Experience

4

Only after getting the degree we can practice medicine. Stipend is given for HS. 100% Placement. My plans are to work for post graduation.

Fees and Financial Aid

Fees for 2017 batch is follows. Scholarship : 5 Lakhs Govt Merit : 5.18 Lakhs Fees is exempted for SC, ST and certain OBC category students. Fees hike for the next batch students will be 10% of the base 5.18 lakhs and will be continued on for the consecutive batches. No job available on campus.

Campus Life

4.5

The collage is just 6 yrs old hence the infrastructure is just fantastic. The life on campus is explicit as for the leisure time there are different sports activities and most importantly wayanad is a tourist spot hence the weekend adventure trips are just some miles away. There are many charity clubs like thanal which are run by students. Classrooms are well equipped with projectors and other basic amenities for teaching. Collage conducts sports day, onam, Christmas, collage day , arts day ,new year activities and inter medicos events . Collage also has a fully equipped library containing all the latest textbooks and computer applications for learning experience.

Hostel Facilities

4

Table, bed, fan, cupboard, almirah, attached toilet and bathroom with water heater. Meal quality is pretty good with non-veg menu and also veg options. Registration process for hostel is conducted after process of admission and will be informed by the collage , and the hostel is quite affordable. Mepadi is a town located just few miles from college where we can find rent rooms.

Even though a bit tight and rushy, this is in fact the best curriculum provided and followed by all medical colleges in kerala. The frequency of exam is high and difficulty level is as same as that of KUHS. This provides relevant experience for the students to weite the university exams

The course is a bit tough rather than other courses (professional courses) MBBS is a 4 year course with 1 year compulsory internship dealing with a total of 13-4 subject over the 4 years The curriculum prepares us for the real world experiecne but more often the clinical subjects aim in patuent student interaction that overall help in the achievemnt of professionalism The frequency if exams are very high as there needs to be regular revision of subjects in order to prepare for the finals and perfect in all clinical theory and oractical aspects

Course Curriculum Overview:

It's always relevant to the content being taught by the teachers. They always use application based questions to prepare us for a real life situation as well. First aid training was also completed. Some of the teachers are very interactive while some not. Short exams are conducted on a weekly basis while internal exams are conducted every 2/3 months. Not that difficult but it isn't that easy either. Very strict checking, nothing is liberal.
