Remarks

ADMISSION PROCESS: The admission process is very smooth, I just went for my document verification done by COMEDK where I got a college offer letter which I had to show to the College Accounts Department and had to fill personal details and pay the remaining fees for the year. PROS: This college is situated at a place which is surrounded by Tech Parks which I feel is an advantage in disguise. You don't have to travel to far off places to get your daily requirement items (if you are a hostelite or stay in a PG) cause you have plenty of stores nearby. CONS: The students are not that passionate about doing projects and coding which I feel is not great cause at the end these are the things that will get you a high paying job. College also doesn't have a coding club that focuses on Competitive Coding. College does have a lot of clubs but frankly speaking, I didn't find any of the cubs to be that active and even if they were, the kind of events that are organised are pretty useless.

Course Curriculum Overview

4.5

I choose Computer Science cause I am passionate about coding and also there are very little job opportunities in other fields like Mechanical and Civil. Usually, in your class, there will be around 65 people handled by a single teacher. All the faculties have a Masters degree and some have a PhD as well. Please don't go for the fact that the teachers are not having a PhD cause all the teachers that I have met are quite talented and will help you out in your need at least in CSE department. The teaching methods include usual blackboard teaching, teaching through projectors and sometimes even the students are asked to teach to make the class interactive. I had 3 internal exams in a semester which take place in a gap of 1 month along with the university exams . The internal exams are pretty easy and you will be able to cope with them.

Internships Opportunities

2

Internships are offered by companies only for the 4th year students before being converted to Full Time Employees.

Placement Experience

3.5

The college placements start after your 3rd year is over. If you are a CS/IS student you will be eligible for 99% of the companies and you have a CGPA greater than 7 to be eligible for most companies. Please don't expect any kind of internship from college in your 2nd or 3rd year, you will have to find that on your own. The internship is provided by companies (not all) at the time of placements. Some companies that visit the campus are VMWare, Deloitte, Eurofins, PwC, Surewaves, TCS, Infosys, HP, Huwaei, SAP Labs, LTI, Wipro, Epsilon, etc. The lowest packages are around 3LPA and the highest is around 12LPA . If you are a CS/IS student you can expect a job around 6-7LPA. Very few students from Mechanical and Civil get placed.

Fees and Financial Aid

For the batch 2017-2021, the fees of COMEDK was Rs.1,70,000 per year and an additional Rs.35,000 taken by college amounting to Rs 2,05,000 per year. This fee will remain the same for all the 4 years though the COMEDK fees and college fees increase for every batch. The fee of the hostel is around Rs. 1,05,000 per year for a 3 partner sharing and increases if you choose to have a better room. Please don't expect any kind of scholarship from this college. Only a handful of students get a scholarship and the amount is about Rs. 5,000 - Rs 10,000 depending on the type of scholarship you get and that too is valid only for 3rd and 4th-year students. 99% of the jobs are IT-related jobs ie only Computer Science and Information Science students are allowed to sit for those companies. If you are a Mechanical or a Civil department student please dont expect a job from this college. The average package is around 4LPA but if you are good student you will be able to bag around 7-8LPA job.

Campus Life

4

The name of the college fest is Culture which is the best part of the college cause they have amazing show stoppers (like Sunburn Campus). It usually happens in late February or early March each year. The library is the best-decorated place of the entire campus and all the books related to your academics are present there so you don't have to buy a single book in your entire college life. Even books for GRE, GMAT, GATE are present. There is neither a pharmacy nor a Badminton Court present on campus. There is a Xerox and Stationary shop along with Cafe Coffee Day. The canteen is spread over 2 floors and a ground floor and you will have a lot of options to eat from. All the college sports team are very active. There are teams of both men and women for Cricket, Basketball, Football, Table Tennis, Hockey, Kho-Kho, Throwball, Volleyball. There are a lot of Clubs but the most happening clubs are Music, Art, Drama, Dance. Each department has clubs of their own too.

Hostel Facilities

5

You will have a cupboard, bed frame, a rack, a study table and a chair and most importantly a Wifi account (limit of 90GB per month) of your own. Things like bed, bucket and other necessary items will have to be purchased on your own. The food is manageable and the menu is different for the entire week. From what I have heard from my friends', hostel food is better than most Pg food. You have enjoy a lot if you stay in a hostel and make a lot of friends.

Interview Experience

4.5

There are no tests except for the Entrance exam like COMEDK or KCET. After the counselling is over you can straight away take the offer letter and land to that college to complete the admission procedure. Don't expect any meetings/ interviews with the Principal or the Vice Principal.

Placement Experience:

The placement cell is very active in our college. Every year more than 30+ companies come to our college for recruitment . Our seniors from 7th semester get placed in many companies and before getting placed in the company our college offers internships to every student. Around 80 % of the students get placed in companies and work efficiently. The average package for civil engineering is 2.5 lakh per annum.

Placement Experience:

RIT's placement scenario is very good, even for the most unpopular branches such as Civil Engineering. Starting from the 7th semester, students are allowed to participate in campus recruitment, and companies come to the campus for the entire final year. The major recruiting companies are L&T Construction, Shapoorji Pallonji, Brigade Group, Sobha Developers, Atkins, PWD, and Infosys for the non-core sector. Civil students on an average get ?5–6 LPA as salary, and the highest offer is usually in the range of ?12–15 LPA, depending on the company and the position. Almost 70–80% of Civil students are placed, while some of them go for higher studies or government examination.Site engineer, design engineer, planning engineer, survey engineer, and trainee engineer are the core positions that are offered. Also, non-traditional roles in IT and consulting can be taken up by those who are not interested in core engineering profiles.I will first acquire some work experience in the industry after completing my degree and then will pursue a master's degree in structural engineering to gain further specialization.

Students become elegible for placements from 7th sem onwards but we are encouraged to do internship before final itself. Most of the companies that come here aren't t1 or even t2. Highest probably would be 12L only if the student is exceptional but most would secure a package 4-6. And the percentage of students getting placed is <50%
