Remarks

Teachers were very educated and we had to maintain discipline strictly. But there was no feed back, individual care taken from students, It was necessary.

Course Curriculum Overview

After passing pre university I was admitted in B-com in the same college. B- com passed student might get some administrative job in all Industries. I was from a poor family where I needed a job during the course or after passing B-com with a view to get a job I thought of doing a two years vocational course on Radio and TV in a govt institute in day time & that paid me a lot. I got a govt job in HAL Barrackpore, West Bengal, India.

Placement Experience

0.5

No, so as to create another job oppertunity I joined in a two years vocational course on Radio & TV in a govt institute in day time.

College Events

2

The college infrastructure was very nice, huge class room and necessary furniture's in it. Then club room with indoor games like table tennis, Carom, one big library of books had all types of books and one cheap Canteen. I participated in NCC training very early morning about 12 KMs from my home. Five days in a week. Well come celebration was good for fresh new students.

Fee Structure And Facilities

It was yearly admission fees, monthly fees and NCC training fees. It was not feasible for me as my father had very low salary as a teacher at that time, we were living in a rented house with four brothers and a sister with parents. It was necessary for me to have tuition.

Campus Life

Yes. There was a big common room for indoor games, Cricket practice at Moidan a govt huge open space where so many football cricket clubs had tents and galleries. Ncc training was taken at Moidan a govt huge field in early morning. It was for male students only.

Alumni/Alumna

At that time alumni network was not there in 1962. Senior students were not helpful in guiding education.

Admission

I wanted science to read but only commerce was there in evening around our house fesable in Kolkata city This college was renowned institution near my home. My guardian and me met the Principal he saw my mark sheet & looked at me & approved admission.

Faculty

3

They were professors on English, accoutancy, commercial geography, Commercial law & mathematics and secretariat practice & NCC (Compulsory). My country was in war with China in 1962. I liked to learn English, accountancy, commercial geography more.
