Remarks

My first priority was a merit seat in mechanical engineering in gov colleges. I preferred gov colleges instead of private colleges. So I made a list of gov colleges for the allotment and finally got admission in this college. There was not any other option so I decided to join here. After al I liked the overall appearence and lab facilities of the college. Also the hostel fecilities was there in the same compound.

Course Curriculum Overview

Our college is under APJ ABDUL KALAM KERALA TECHNOLOGICAL UNIVERSITY, our batch was the 2nd ktu batch with updated syllubus than the 1st batch. In addition to theoretical studies, activities such as worshops, Career guidence, NSS technical cell, Skill development courses, mini projects, seminars, Main projects, course Viva, Industrial visits etc were the part of academics. But the syllubus were so bulky and not related to each other. There was lot of portions to study. 2 internal exams in a sem. Very good faculties with any time helping mentality was a great support for us to be an engineer. Academic topers were encouraged and low academic students recieved a great support to improve. All our faculties were very well supportive for all of us. They guide as well for our projects and also for the placements also.

Internships Opportunities

After my final semester exam I am doing some skill development and certification courses and plans to move on. I have completed my internships in TOMS PIPES and some other industries without stipend.

Placement Experience

5

There is a very good placement cell working in our college. More than 50 students of our batch got placed in various companies. Mostly IT companies. But there is very less placement opportunity for other department students. But the activities of our placement cell is appreciable. They have conducted so many training programmes and placment drives in association with Wipro, Infosys, Promates, TCS, Poornam Infovision etc. We have a strong alumni groups. The video calling app developed for the Indian Government were selected from kerala and it is proud to say that our senior students are also part of it.

College Events

4.5

All the extracurricular activities were awesome that I have enjoyed the most during the last 4 years in my life. There was lot of such activities such as Technical fests, Sports meet, Arts festival with lot of cultural programmes, Holy celebrations, Onam celebrations etc. We enjoyed most during oru industrial visit of 8 days out of state. We have conducted a national level technical fest with ISRO expo, Military EXPO, KSRTC expo etc. The most public accepted programme were Allepy motorshow conducted by Mechanical students first time in Alappuzha. It was a great experience for us. We conducted 2 motorshows continuously during 2018 and 2019. Previous motorshow were cancelled due to corona pandemic issue.

Fees and Financial Aid

Scholarship was available for reserved catagories and minority students. I got post metric scholarships for all 4 years.

Campus Life

A good infrastructure with wifi connection. 2 storeyed library building with plenty of books for references. Indoor badminton court and a ground. College has a cricket and football team. Our college encourage sports activities by conducting inter college games as well as arts activities. There is a 3 storey building for PG courses with advanced AC conference hall. A good campus with wifi connection all time. Hostel facility for both men and ladies in the same compound. Very good lab facilities with good quality machines. There is a college canteen run by thriveni. Vehicle parking facilities available. Total 6 securities working by shifts. Overal good infrastructure.

Hostel Facilities

3 storyed hostel with lot of rooms can include 3 or 4 students. All are provided with bed and tables and also a shelf. Self Laundary facilities are provided with good bathroom facilities which are common for all. Overall good food availability with purified drinking water. Veg and Non veg variable menu was provided for us. The most memorable moments in our life happened in our hostel. We lived as a family for last 4 years and still miss our hostel.

Placement Experience:

From 6th semester, students are eligible for placements. Our college has the best placement cell in kerala. Around 30% students are placed each year in our college. Companies like federal bank, infopark invites students from our college for their interviews. The degree mark is not considered, all we have to is just pass the subject and obey the rules of the placement cell.

Course Curriculum Overview:

The course curriculum is purely based on kuhs. The academic are finished a month before university exams . 85% attendance is maintained for exam. I choosed this course and college as my sister had passed out from this college with great score. For my MDS too i prefer this college as one of my option. Preclinical studies should be a little bit improved by showing some kind of 3D modes of teaching. Exam timing are so clear and perfect.

Placement Experience:

Students are eligible for placement from the 7th semester and internship from 3rd semester. You can apply for internship on your own right from first semester but college gives aid from 3rd semester. The major recruiter is ISRO which offers 40-45 jobs for aerospace engineering. Also other companies like CDac Airbus Boeing and DRDO and HAL visit for recruitment. Nearly 85-90% students get placed while some opt for Higher education and research too. My primary goal is to get into ISRO also I will be preparing for gate examination to complete my IIT dream.
