Course Curriculum Overview
My course of B.Des in textile design is a 4 year course which helps us to experiment and innovate with materials. It offers us with careers in textile and fashion industry like handloom and handicraft organisations.
Placement Experience
Yes, NIFT offer placement and internship opportunities and they try their best to get us placed at one of the top brands or companies. They also provide us with pre-placement offers in which we go through internships which train us well to work in any organization.
College Events
They conduct various events and activities in the campus like one of the most famous is SPECTRUM. They also organise fashion shows and celebrate festivals along with graduation, convocation and award ceremonies.
Fee Structure And Facilities
Fees structure for any NIFT campus of any course is quite high. For my course B.DES in Textile Design, it is ?2,71,000 for the first year and so it is approx 10-11 lakhs for 4 years. But it is totally purposeful with all the activities, workshops and placements they offer us.
Campus Life
NIFT Kannur campus has got all the facilities that a fashion student might require. It has spacious and well furnished classrooms with laboratories for all purpose in the workshop block. It also provides us with a photography studio, library and auditorium.
Admission
NIFT admission for Bachelor courses is done on the basis of your score in CAT and GAT exam. Shortlisted students then have to appear to a Situation test. For Post-graduation, admission is based on entrance exam and GDPI. You must have passed 10+2 from a recognised board to get admission here.
Faculty
Faculty of NIFT is equipped with experienced and well educated professors. They play the role of being an amazing mentor to us. They inform us well about their subjects and motivate us to gain more understanding and knowledge about the same.
