Remarks

Those who want to get placed in MNCs with an average package of 3-4.5 lpa can join this college. In this college, you will learn a lot of theoretical concepts and in the 7th or 08th semester one can get placed in a reputed MNC such as TCS, Capgemini, Infosys etc. I will recommend this college to those who are dependent on college management for placement opportunities because the efforts put down by the college management is up-to the mark. "This college degree is the key to realizing my American dream, as it is supposed to open the door to a world of opportunity.ヤ

Entrance Preview

In 2007 I gave Maharashtra Common Entrance Test (MHT CET) in the month of May and got 9,123 rank (Nine thousnad,One hundred and twenty third rank ) in general quota. During the counselling process in July 2007 I opted for different colleges such as:- Rizvi College of Engineering, Bandra,Sardar Patel College of Engineering - Andheri,Mahatma Gandhi Mission's College of Engineering and Technology, Kalamboli, Konkan Gyanpeeth College of Engineering, Karjat and Padmabhushan Vasantdada Patil Pratishthan's College of Engineering. In all these colleges I opted for Computer Science branch and I am allocated with CSE branch in PVPP College of Engineering. That is my story to reach out to this college.

Course Curriculum Overview

2.5

Course of Mumbai University is very wide and there are 5 subjects in each semester. This is merely very difficult for college faculties also to complete the course in the given duration of semester timelines. Quality wise syllabus is not up-to the mark and do not covers much of the practical approaches that are necessary for any engineering student and covers only theoretical aspect of the technology. There is no choice in electives up-to 7th semester and you will get only 1 elective choice in 8th semester where there are only 4 subjects to pass out for.

Internships Opportunities

No,our college do not provide any kind of Internship to any student. As in B-Tech there is no scope of internship and we have to complete our 8th semester project by our own, students can take guidance from external agencies but no such internship are provided to students.

Placement Experience

3.5

Pooled Campus Drive by PEOL Technologies, TCS Campus Recruitment, Capgemini Campus Recruitment, PRDXN Campus drive, Mirraw Pool Campus Placement Drive are some of the placements drives our college used to organize for it's students. Placement percentage of our college is near about 83% and the salary package offered to students varies in the range of 2.4 lpa to 5.6 lpa. In the year 2011 Tata Consultancy Services Limited offered 3.16 lpa to CSE,ECE,IT and Electronics and Telecommunication students while Capgemini also offered an annual package of 3.24 lpa to some of the associates. College is continuously making successful efforts in getting more and more MNC's to visit the college for Campus drive.

College Events

3

Our college organize FUSION ( Technical,Cultural Fest) every year in which different events like "Junk Busters","Code Spore","spandan","Sky Fest" are organized and we can observe good participation from all departments of our college in the Techno-cultural fest. Students from different colleges also used to visit our college to take part in FUSION annual Fest. Fest lasts 3 Days and our college used to organize Star night on the 3rd and final day of the fest. Management provide full support in the organization of Techno-Cultural fest in the college.

Fee Structure And Facilities

Total fees for 1st year is around 98,103 INR and is around 96,367 INR from 2nd year onwards which includes University Charges, Tuition fees, Registration Charges, Personality Development and Placement assistance charges. Fee structure of private engineering colleges in Mumbai region affiliated to Mumbai University are on the same level and almost every private engineering college intakes the same fees from the students except the government aided colleges.

Fees and Financial Aid

College offers Sir Ratan Tata Scholarship program to B-Tech students having an aggregate of 75% and above marks. For the eligibility it is necessary that student is not receiving any other stipend or financial aid and also scores an aggregate of 80% or above in second, third, fourth year of graduation in the college. Also under this scheme only thirty meritorious students get selected and will only cover tuition fee of the program.

Campus Life

3

Gender ratio of our college is near about 64 girls per 100 boys and one can observe good diversity in our college. Most of the Students are from Mumbai only with some students from Rest of Maharashtra, Gujarat and West Bengal. College used to organize COMBAT ROBOTICS WORKSHOP every year and a team of 6 students along with HOD and one faculty member used to visit Japan for the workshop. Most of the students in the college are from Middle and Upper Middle class family and college follows zero tolerance policy with regards to race, religion and politics. College has its own dramatics club which occasionally used to perform some events in the college like "Nukkad Natak" and similar events. College also organize Technical extraveganza every year in which professors from all around the country participate and put their views and present White papers on the emerging technologies.

Hostel Facilities

3.5

There are 2 boys hostel and 2 girls hostel in our college. Available Hostel rooms are in double sharing mode and single sharing mode with hostel fees of around 73000 for double sharing and 80050 for single sharing rooms.(Cooler charges are extra). Hostel has ample no. of seats and it is not safe to stay in outside PG's as the location of college is at highway and there are no residential projects in that region. Mess food is good in the college and Non-Vegetarian food is not allowed in the college mess. We have a pre-defined menu of the hostel mess and any complains regarding the quality of eatables in hostel mess are given due importance by our hostel warden. Hostel warden is highly cooperative and helps students in the case of any needy situation.

Alumni/Alumna

Alumni of our college are very helpful and can be of great help when you are looking for some Job opportunities. Alumni of PVPP College of Engineering spread all over the world are zealously serving human society as engineers, technologists, managers and entrepreneurs. Alumni of PVPP College are on different roles in different MNCs and generally meet during the Alumni Meet program that is organized on 25th December every year.

Exam Structure

Mumbai University exams are hectic one and one has to go through a lot of theory books to clear the exams. Passing marks are 33 out of 100 and it is very difficult to pass Mumbai University exams due to careless marking done by our professors during the external university exams. Paper pattern is also not good and do not follow the pre-defined schema which is used to be taught during the semester days. Lab work is not hectic and one can easily complete his/her lab work because in Mumbai University more focus is on theoretical knowledge rather than on practical knowledge.

Faculty

3

Faculty of our college are well qualified and talented too with most of them holding the M-Tech and Ph.D Degrees. Some of the staff members are pursuing Ph. D in the recent technologies. Faculty of our CSE department possess sound technical and practical knowledge and has good command over most of the programming languages. Prof. Asha Rawat is the HOD of our CSE department and offers excellent academic environment and also possess quality educational and teaching skills. She has great practical knowledge and she is a great motivator too. Department Laboratories are equipped with Cisco switches and CAT 6 cabling. Our college possess modern gazettes of teaching and same are used in our day-to-day college lectures also.

Course Curriculum Overview:

Soo ever since kid i was interested in bikes this interest was all for me to take this course , my father is very bike enthusiast and it came down to me , i could easily take mechanical and other engineering cause these are common courses which involves automobile , but since i wanted to follow my passion , i wanted to do specialization in automobile itself and DPCOE was offering this course with great facilities and knowledge providing us a path in this lane of career in this field. According to me curriculum prepares us quite well as they conduct workshop which are relevant to outside world where we'll be working. If there were more practical workshops for us to work on would be great cause automobile engineering is all about practicals rather than theoroticals Professor should try teaching in physical part rather than taking lectures and explaining the concept by just words

Yes there is placement cell of STES which is no different than other tier 3 engineering colleges offering a tier 3 average package depending on who is the recruiter. Students become eligible for campus from 3rd year of their degree. Highest package is something around 55 lakhs offered to a computer engineering student, and average is just like I said for a tier 3 college 5-6 lakhs(above or below). Almost everyone gets placed in the company but some might not.
