Course Curriculum Overview
We had subjects from mechanical, civil, Environmental, physics, and also mathematics stream which we studied in the first year. The core subjects were introduced in our curriculum after the second-semester exams. As our exam structure was semester wise we have five to six subjects consecutively for all which we gave submissions and class tests which also accounted for the report card.
Placement Experience
Both the placement ratio and internship opportunities were much better at Vishwakarma University. One of the seniors I know got to do an internship at TechMahindra and the stipend varied from 5,000 to 7,000. However, the recruiting companies were HP, Coca Cola, Dell, Amazon, Bata, Indian Army, Nestle India, VolksWagen, TechMahindra, and several other reputed industries and organizations.
College Events
A joint venture was organized by WILO Foundation and Vishwakarma University at the seminar hall, several inauguration and cultural festivals were organized at the campus. Apart from it, we have technical events and workshops events where students from Vishwakarma University and nearby universities also participate to explore and gain practical experience.
Fee Structure And Facilities
The fees at Vishwakarma University were fixed for every year for the bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering which were 2 lakhs per annum. Although the total fees were 8 lakhs for this bachelor's degree, it felt reasonable looking at the academic perspective and also the placement opportunities.
Campus Life
About the extracurricular activities, we had numerous workshops programs and model-making seminars where we used to learn the practical aspect of it. Also, we enjoyed the fresher's party and cultural programs as there was moderate student diversity.
Hostel Facilities
The university provided hostel facilities but as per my frame of mind, generally students I know at the institute, preferred the pg rooms over the hostel facilities. The rentals for the pg rooms were low and the students felt freedom along with the appropriate facilities of living including all the relevant charges.
Admission
I completed my higher secondary education with 70% and also score good marks in the JEE Mains which were both considered as the eligibility criteria for the admission in Bachelor of Engineering for Mechanical Engineering stream. However, I followed the procedure on the admission link.
Faculty
As the subjects were from other streams, there were also faculties from the relevant department for the first year and they cleared all our basics. Also, in our department, many qualified and knowledgeable faculties were ready to solve our doubts and conduct several extra lectures.
