Course Curriculum Overview
The program gives students knowledge about advanced lessons in animal disease & poultry management so that the students are able to diagnose the ailments and conduct a laboratory based research. The course spans over nine semesters ( five years) in which six months of mandatory internship is to be done.The subjects include animal nutrition, veterinary radiology & surgery, animal husbandry, veterinary microbiology, animal genetics & breeding, livestock production management etc.
Placement Experience
Top roles offered to the students were biological scientist, animal care & service worker, veterinary consultant, pharmacy research scientist, veterinary surgeon, private practitioner etc. The highest salary offered was 7 lpa and the average was around 3 lpa. Internships were also offered to students in the field of research institutes, NGOs, hospitals etc and the monthly stipend for the same starts from 8,000 per month.
Fee Structure And Facilities
The total fees for one year is approx to 1,975. This fees structure does not involve the hostel & mess fees. A admission and security fees needs to be paid at the start of the semester. The fee structure is quite feasible.
Fees and Financial Aid
Bank loans from SBI and Canara bank are provided to students for educational purposes. Other than that scholarship is awarded to the reserved category as per the norms of the government. Internship allowance of 7,500 is provided by the ICAR & state government. Those students who have secured good rank in NEET-UG and AIPVT are given 3000 as per the norms of the college. Scholarships are also provided to lower middle section, ex-servicemen and military personnel.
Campus Life
Malkhamb, which is the traditional sport of Maharashtra, in which many students of our college participate and compete against each other and represent the college at national level. ICAR sports tournament and many sports events like football tournament, kabbadi, chess, basketball, badminton etc are organised to encourage student participation in sports.Cultural activities such as pottery, theater, painting, dance & music competition, singing, rangoli making etc are also held at our college.
Admission
The students should have completed 12th with 50% marks and physics, chemistry, biology & English as the compulsory subject. NEET-UG entrance exam is to be given to seek admission in this college in the relevant course. 40% in case of the reserved category.You can apply online and fill in the necessary details. Admissions will be strictly done on the basis of cut off prepared by the college in NEET exams. You will be called for document verification after which you will be granted admission in the college.
Faculty
The teachers teach us about the major components of study and focuses on animal tissues and body fluids. All the teachers in our department have many years of experience in veterinary microbiology and veterinary clinical practices.We are taught on basic concepts so that we understand what causes diseases in livestock and animals and conduct relevant studies in order to develop new methods to treat such ailments.
