Course Curriculum Overview
The duration of the course is three years in which we get to learn about how the diversity of the rare and endangered species is maintained and preserved.The course description involves the subjects like livestock production, principles of population & animal genetics, veterinary gross anatomy, avian production management, applied animal nutrition, commercial hatchery management, techniques and principles of veterinary etc.Thus the students are able to learn crossbreeding/inbreeding effects and make decisions on physical structure of the animal species.
Placement Experience
The job positions offered to the students of my batch were Animal farm manager, Veterinary technicians, medical representative veterinarian, pharmacy research scientist, biological manager etc . Students were recruited in fields of hospitals, NGOs, private sectors. Many of my batch mates choose to be a teacher in a private institute, other went into government sector.The average starting salary offered was around 4 lpa.
Fee Structure And Facilities
The tuition fees for three years is 1510. Other than that the total of one year comes down to 1,975 after including all the other charges.The grand total for three years is 6,505 which is very feasible and affordable if compared to the other colleges.
Campus Life
Cultural activities such as drama, T-shirt painting, hand drawing, rangoli making competition, poster making, holi, freshers day, annual fest etc are conducted at our college. Workshops on healthcare & nutrition, animal welfare, veterinary clinical practice, livestock economics are held regularly so that the students are able to understand the complex structure and furthermore design a animal breeding program. Inter college tournaments for chess, badminton, carom etc are held every year so that the students can showcase their talent on national and international front.
Hostel Facilities
The hostels of boys and girls are provided within the college campus.The new and old building of the hostel can accommodate up to 48 and 80 students respectively.The mess of the hostel provides wholesome and healthy food at reasonable prices.The old hostel is three sharing basis while the new hostel is twin sharing basis. You can choose your comfort accordingly. CCTV cameras are entrusted outside the hostel for security reasons.Other facilities include water cooler, geyser, attached bathrooms, 24 hours electricity and Tv rooms which are connected to DTH network are also provided to students at thier respective hostels.
Admission
You need to clear an entrance exam conducted by NTA every year called NEET-UG or MHT-CET (competitive entrance exam).Other than that you need to have at least 50 % marks in your 12th examination with physics, chemistry, biology as the main subjects.A merit list will be prepared based on the combined scores of entrance exam and 12th scores. 5% reservation is given to SC/ST/OBC. Based on your score you will be called for a counselling session and later granted admission.
Faculty
The faculty of the college teaches the students with great enthusiasm and explain them the concepts related to livestock production & farm management and how they can be skilled in bioinformatics & molecular genetics and further generate a interest in animal problems. All the doubts are duly cleared by them so that we gain more information about the topic. Assignments and practical sessions are also held up so that we are able to diagnose animal issues within time and treat them.
