Course Curriculum Overview

This course is for 3 years or 6 semesters and majorly focuses on Hospitality, food composition, beverage making et cetera (You can visit the official website for detailed info) The exam was divided into 5 different sections- Quantitative Aptitude, General English, Logical Reasoning, General Knowledge, Aptitude for the hospitality division. The time given to complete 200 MCQ was 3 hours.

Placement Experience

There is a 100% success rate for internships in my course. If an individual has paid enough attention to the classes, he might grab an internship in a hotel chain as prestigious as Taj. The placement of the college is pretty decent, I'll be honest when you're being recruited by a company, your experiences and internships matter a lot. The more places you've interned in makes a hike in your salary.

Fee Structure And Facilities

The fee has to be paid semester wise, the fee structure goes like- 68,509 rs for 1st semester, 42,200 rs for 2nd semester, 59609 for 3rd semester, 43,100 rs for 4th semester, 65,609 for 5th semester and 49,100 for the last semester.

Campus Life

The college is all about practical knowledge more than theoretical knowledge, hence, the college is beautifully designed with chic amenities and equipment for our comfort. The kitchens are always very clean and extremely hygienic and scented with breath-taking odour which enhances our mood while cooking.

Admission

I always wanted to master the art of hospitality and cooking and getting into IHM Shimla opened the way to my dreams. I chose this course over any short term course or diploma course as I wanted to have in-depth knowledge about the art and science of hospitality. I had to undertake NCHMCT JEE examination which, when cleared, was followed by a counselling process to get admission into this college.

Every sub-divided subjects have different instructors who are the best in their area of expertise. No matter if it's the services we are looking after or cooking multi-cuisine dishes along with a bit of mixology, this course never disappoints the creative minds who are guided by amazing mentors.

Placement Experience:

At NIT Hamirpur, students become eligible for campus placements from the 7th semester onwards, and the placement scenario has been quite encouraging in recent years. A wide range of companies such as Infosys, Wipro, L\&T, Capgemini, Tata Projects, and several core as well as IT firms visit the campus every year. The highest placement touched an impressive 2.05 crore offered to a mechanical engineering student, while the overall average package stands at around 10.5 LPA, which is a strong figure compared to many other NITs. The placement percentage remains high, with a majority of students securing offers, especially in branches like CSE, IT, and ECE, though core branches like civil and mechanical also receive good opportunities. The profiles offered include roles in software development, consulting, design, project engineering, and research. After completing my degree, I plan to take advantage of these placement opportunities to gain solid industry experience and later decide whether to pursue higher studies or competitive exams for broader career growth.

Course Curriculum Overview:

Faculty here is really nice .Some of them love to teach ,you can see the passion in their eyes They actually care especially 1st year faculty members. Faculty student ratio is appropriate in my opinion,in general we have 3 assistant prof.,1 additional,1associate and 1 head of the department plus JRs,SRs. Faculty members are really qualified and are passed out from prestigious colleges which makes you feel respect for them even more. Term exams are conducted after 3-4 months and you really have to study ,they consume you but you'll pass if you study.They aren't difficult per se but the syllabus is vast which is quite a challenge.

Remarks:

There are mostly good remarks for college like the environment in kangra Himachal Pradesh is best in the area. There are dhauladar hill ranges infront for college and fress air of hilly areas are good for students.

Basically i selected in my other ihm college and lnipe that is basically a physical education college and i choose this college is because first a fall it is a come in top 10 college in india of hotel management and the facilities and faculty both are best of this college and i like mountains that's why I come here No I don't reject in any college i give two exam after 12 first is nchmtc jee that is basically for hotel management and second is cuet for lnipe college that is for physical education and I selected in both the college Basically the selection process of my college is with only one exam that is nchmtc jee that is happening every year first you have to fill the form online and after that you have give the basic test that is computer based test that is off 700 marks and in this paper is divided into 3 part first is general abilities second is maths and third is english and basic releted to hotel management and the basic cut off is 350 + marks after that you have to select the college that you have to join and individual cut off is out by the college for admission And after all of this college select you according to your percentage and then you have to submit your documents and medical and then you are selected...Read More

Pros and cons for taking admission in ihm shimla

10+2 people with above 50 percentage can apply for it. And for institute of hotel management shimla they have open direct addmission for the people who didn't get the opportunity to complete their degree.
