Course Curriculum Overview
A base is made for the students in subjects such as costume & fashion design, design management, science and liberal arts etc. The students conceptual abilities are given a boost through project based learning were we are encouraged to pursue our own goals and creative abilities. The duration of the course is two years and six months.
Placement Experience
Recruiting companies that visit our college campus are Bombay design house, ebay, General motors, ADIDAS, Oracle, Trident group, Lifestyle etc. The average package offered was 12 lpa. Summer internships were also offered to students in fashion industry and brand designing. However I am not sure of the stipend that they had provided.
Fee Structure And Facilities
The tuition fees for the first year is 3.8 L and for second year is 3.3 L. The total for two years is 8.16 L after including all the other necessary charges. The fees for the NRI candidates are 4.39 L for one year and 10,8 L for two years. The fees structure is a little expensive but manageable seeing the scholarships and facilities that the college has provided us with.
Fees and Financial Aid
Bank loans are given at lowest possible rates for education purposes. Fee concession is given to students belonging to economically weaker sections of the society. Oversees scholarship is also offered to students who are toppers in exams. 50% tuition waiver is given to students whose parents income is less than 2 lpa. Fee concession is also awarded to children of defense personnel, freedom fighters and ex-serviceman.
Campus Life
International crafts festival is held where the students showcase their talent and creative skills. Workshops such as fashion management, design structuring, apparel design etc are organised from time to time. Cultural activities such as English elocution, drama, face mask, baking competition, designing, holi, diwali to boost the morale of students. Outdoor and indoor activities are also conducted at our college.
Admission
The students seeking admission must have a three or four year Bachelor degree which is recognized by the university. The students who have done a full time diploma in fine arts/design/applied arts/architecture for a period of four years are also eligible to apply for the course. You also need to clear NID DAT entrance exam and based on the scores a combined merit list will be declared by the college. The upper age limit for general students is 30 while for SC/ST/OBC it is 33 years. You can apply online for the college and after uploading all the relevant documents wait for the merit list to be declared for admission in the college.
Faculty
The teachers have a commendable work experience in the fashion design and management. Teaching methods and techniques are very innovative so that the students can understand the subject better. Regular practical & theory exams are conducted so that we get a hold of subject and get industry exposure.
