Remarks

The college was good. However infra facilities could have been improved.

Entrance Preview

I took IIT JEE AIR 4624. I opted for ISM as the entrance is through JEE although i had options from a lot of other colleges. I wanted to get into the best.

Course Curriculum Overview

They had a very detailed course curriculum. Some electives were IC Engines Advanced Machine Design Dynamics of Machinery Heat and Mass Transfer Fluid Mechanics.

Internships Opportunities

We had multiple internship opportunities in different years of graduation. The actual experience was during the 3rd year of graduation. I chose to work in non industry in research domain at IISC Bangalore. Stipend was 15000 per month.

Placement Experience

Excellent for placements. However the location disadvantage of Dhanbad had created issues for some visiting companies. We had all the core sector companies coming. Shell - 10.6L,Schelmberger 20L,Tata Motors 5.6L.

College Events

We had both technical and cultural festival called Srijan. They had footfalls of around 2000-3000 students from colleges around and prize money worth 30L across all the events. We had reputed bands/artists who performed on the festival days.

Fee Structure And Facilities

The fees was very much manageable. First Semester in year - 35000,Second Semester in year 20000 Bank also provides loan facility to the students in the first year. There are options available.

Fees and Financial Aid

There are scholarships for merit students in different disciplines. Mining,Petroleum and Mining Machinery branches had more opportunities compared to others. However bank loan facility was available to all the students.

Campus Life

Gender Ratio was skewed to more male students amazing campus experience in terms of parties and hanging out with friends. Excellent lab facilities for research no discrimination of race or ethnicity.

Hostel Facilities

The Hostels and the mess food were average when we studied. The facilities started improving in the final year.

External Expense: Rs.2000 - Rs.4000

Alumni/Alumna

Extensive alumni network spread across industries. However college alum connect is not very great. Networking opportunities are provided during on campus events but can be increased further.

Exam Structure

We had mid term and end term examinations for every semester. 8 terms in 4 years. Some of the terms were hectic depending on the subjects.

Faculty

We had a very experienced and knowledgeable faculty. Mechanical engineering department was considered one of the best in our college. All our faculty are PH.Ds from reputed Indian and International universities.

BIT : A Freshman's Perspective

Placement Experience:

Students are eligible to sit for placements from the 7th semester.A variety of companies including TATA Steel, JSL, JPL, Samsung, TCS and ABG visit the campus.The highest package offered is to Mining branch by vedanta which is 16.5 lpa.In core branches like mechanical and electrical the placement percentage reaches to almost 80%.

Beyond the Brochures: Fun Days at BIT

Placement Experience:

The placement cell of our college is quite active and provides internship opportunities and pre-placement offers for students in their third and fourth years. It invites reputed companies like Microsoft, Google, Amazon, Accenture, IBM, Intel, Infosys, Cognizant, Deloitte, and many more. The average package is about 12LPA and highest package is about 52 LPA. Branches like CSE offer even higher, lucrative packges.

A Genuine Review

Placement Experience:

From 5th Semester onwards student are eligible for internship but from 7th semester they are allowed to sit in campus. Various companies like PayPal, Wipro , cognizant ,TCS ,Genpact ,Amdocs etc. Highest Package this year is 35 lpa and Average Package is around 7.5 lpa. Around 90% of students from circuital branch and around 80% students from non-circuital branch has been placed so far this year. My plan is prepare very smartly for campus placements and bag a very good PPO from are tech based company.

The Underrated NIAMT

Placement Experience:

Students become eligible after 6th semester for placement drive. Companies visited are Vedanta, JSW, Mahinda, L&T, Ashok Leyland etc and 95% of students are placed till and still few companies are yet to come. Heighest package offered was by Vedanta of 13.95LPA while lowest was from an ADC Company of 3LPA which makes the median package around 8LPA for metallurgy branch and 7LPA for Mechanical. Every year around 98% of students get placed ( Rest 2% either opt out or any seruius indisciplinary issue ) Planning to get a job first then along with preparation of GATE for PSU.

Placement Experience:

on every occasion they will charge the students, there is no good placement, every year they increase the exam fee, students are not regular its poor then government colleges just pay penalty and your attention will be full, its like correspondence course they are running huge but and regular power cuts unhealthy canteens, political motivated administration and management. There expenditure in infrastructure is huge which is best for love birds its like park or garden. Overall all not dedicated to education.

A two years review of Central University of Jharkhand

Course Curriculum Overview:

Course curriculise fully designed on national education policy 2020. Focuses more on extracurricular activities than core subjects. Because reply is designed on the basis of UGC guidelines which is a good thing for different competitive exams that are design by UGC. I will say semesters are to short that all till now my all four semesters has been glitter in about 4 months each that should be of duration of 6 months.

Must Read before coming to IIT ISM Dhanbad

I had secured AIR 5860 in JEE Advanced, so i had applied for all CSE, ECE, ELECTRICAL, MNC and related branches in Top IITs. For my rank, I got IIT ISM Dhanbad in the last round. I had also got IIT Kharagpur Manufacturing Science, but I choosed to go for furture rounds as i thought doing a circuit branch in IITs is better. I could not make it to colleges that i wanted to as my rank was 5860 and belonging to the GENERAL category, the rank is too high to get into top branches of the top 7 IITS. The admission process is JEE Advanced, Elgibility is that u need to have good rank in JEE Advanced, the rank required varies from branch to branch but i can give you and idea, for our IIT ISM, CSE -> 2000 to 3500, MNC -> 3500 to 4500 , ECE -> 4500 to 6000 and so on....Read More
