Entrance Preview

IITJEE, Just got the branch according to my rank. Didn't put much thought into this branch. I had the option of going for chemical at MNIT Allahabad.

Course Curriculum Overview

Course curriculum was similar to chemical engineering. It also involved studying a lot about coal beneficiation, iron ore enrichment etc.Curriculum was fairly easy and required less study hours.

Internships Opportunities

Companies like Tata steel , cairn India came for internships. The stipend provided by them was also impressive. Tata also provided with a company guest house for fooding and lodging.

Placement Experience

Placements are good especially in earth sciences branches. Off late other branches like CSE have also done well in terms of placement. Almost all major multinationals from relevant fields visit the college for interviews.

College Events

There are separate cultural, technical and sports fest namely. Both the cultural and the sports fest are the largest in the north east region.All major colleges visit the college which makes for a good crowd.

Fee Structure And Facilities

The fee structure is one of the lowest among all colleges which take their admissions through IIT JEE. The hostel fees and the internet charges were included in the fees which was a meagre 100? per month for both.

Fees and Financial Aid

Various scholarships are available for both meritorious students and also students from not so well to so families. The student loan is also easier to get through an SBI branch which is in the campus itself.

Campus Life

The campus life was fun filled with various activities for enthusiasts. There were society's like cultural society, drama club, Hindi society. Apart from it sports was also emphasized upon.The gender radio is highly skewed in favour of males though in recent times it has improved.

Alumni/Alumna

The alumni network is huge and they are very helpful when it comes to getting internships and jobs. The junior senior relationship in the college is very famous. It is one of the best among all colleges in India.

Faculty

Faculty had a wide knowledge about their subject and were very helpful. The projects given by the professors were useful on terms of after college job requiremens.

BIT Mesra is Musical!!

Placement Experience:

Mechanical branch in terms of number of students placed is quite high but if it is about how many students get elite packages it's less. The average for our branch at our college is 8-9 lakhs but top companies which are into our core space for long are our college partners.

BIT Mesra is humongous!!

Placement Experience:

My plans after degree is to pursue masters or right away get on with my family business as we are already into trading chemicals. However, from the number of students from our stream that apply for jobs through campus, over 80% are placed from campus. Labs to industries that deals in manufacturing of chemicals and exporting the same are the ones where students of our college get the opportunity.

BIT Mesra is Magical!!

Placement Experience:

Highest package from our campus is eye catching as it's 56 lakhs and for chemical branch it was 34 lakhs. HUL, Sun Pharma, public limited labs and various R&D research centres are those that have helped us to get best available jobs in market as the competition is high but BIT Mesra has still managed to place over 80% students last year.

BITS Mesra is Magnificent!!

Placement Experience:

From second semester we are taken for an hour session for special training. It is optional till 4th semester but from 5th semester onwards, it becomes mandatory and we have no choice but to go through that hammer. Finally, from the last year's 1st semester companies starts coming and we can apply for the same and that is how placements are done here.

Placement Experience:

the placement rate depends on branch.some branches like cse,ese will have a high placement rate and for small branches like mechanical and chemical will have less placements .the highest package is around 60lpa.

Read this before joining BIT Sindri.

Placement Experience:

The placement opportunities is decent for students. The placement of BIT sindri varies from branch to branch but the core brances like Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Mining Engineering, Metallurgical Engineering has evergreen placements. Among the eligible students around 90 percent students get placed. But in branches like civil and production engineering, its not the same. They have very low placement rate around 20 to 30% of eligible students get placement. For CSE, IT & ECE the placement is highly dependent on the situation of market and it varies early. The students are eligible from 6 the semester onwards for placement . The placement drive starts from August or September and companies visit till students graduate. The top recruiters are TCS with more than 80 students from overall campus , TATA power nearly 20 , LNT, JSW , Vedanta , TATA STEEL, JSL, ADANI, ABG , Shyam steel and For it sector companies like samsung , cognisant, hitachi, TCs, Spyder visited for 2k21 batch. For the batch 2020-2024 among batch size of 710 around 620 offers were made. The highest package is given by samsung which is around 28 LPA , students of CSE, IT, ECE and Electrical are eligible. For IT sector average package is around 6 lakhs. For core sectors companies heightest package is offered by vedanta to Electrical, Mechanical, Mining which is around 14 lakhs average package is around 7 LPA.. Around 75- 80 percent students get placed during campus placement drive. The Wish to crack GATE and join PSU after my graduation.

The underrated government college

Course Curriculum Overview:

Course curriculum is slightly outdated due but still it isnrelevant due to research oriented branch. The areas they can improve is by adding practical subjects more than theoretical one. Exams are conducted twice every semester with easy to moderately moderate difficulty level.

All You need to know about IIT(ISM) Dhanbad

As this is an IIT, To get admission here Firstly You have to take the JEE mains exam. At our time there used to be 4 rounds of the JEE Mains exam and Your maximum percentile among all 4 would be considered for a cutoff It was around 90% and to be eligible for give JEE advance Exam. The JEE advance exam happened in July, and its results were also released in August. After Qualifying JEE Advanced exam too you have to go through JOSSA counselling. In JOSSA counselling you have to give your list of colleges priority wise and you will be allotted college based on your AIR. After JOSSA counseling of 6 rounds, you will be allotted a college and then you will receive an offer letter from a college. For me, at IIT Dhanbad after taking admission firstly we were introduced to college through an orientation session with our respected director. After this we were called to campus for pre-registration for our course there we had to submit our documents and verify our identity. That's it !!...Read More
