GROWING strong year by year with positive results

First of all, I am a Pondicherry resident so for Pondicherry people the fees are low through merit and this is also government aided college. So I preferred to study here. Also for campus interviews many MNC's and good IT recruiting companies to come. So I opt here. And the demerits are, to be honest, the teaching staff will not take extra care. It's up to you either you study and succeed or you waste your four years. The admission is through online and we can see the official website (pec.edu) for further updates and information. It is usually done during the month of July and college opens in August. They always give us regular updates and in the process of admission, we can try up to 3rd counselling to get our preferred course. I didn't any website for joining this college but checked for some reviews in collegedunia. I also contacted and discussed my seniors for the admission.

Electronics and Communication Engineering is one of the streams where you learn almost about all the concepts of science. You learn about electronics, few of the electrical and computer science based concepts. The best part is communication. I don't think another stream gives you this yet trivial knowledge of all the fields. The reason I choose ECE. It has said that many people do not choose this stream because of the above-mentioned ideas. People who assume their weakness is in learning the programming languages or prefer a no coding stream. Faculty members are very experienced (at least 10 years) and each one is highly educated with a PhD degree. Each subject has separate staff and the faculty-student ratio is 1:120. Odd semester exam during December and even semester exam during May and exam are not that difficult. If we attend the class properly and have excellent marks in an internal test it is very easy to pass the semester exam.

The top roles offered in my course is Assitant software developer.40% of our students got internships in Zoha, Altran technologies, ADP and HP. The college not only gives us the intern opportunity on campus but it also refers us and gives us regular updates at off-campus also. It is our responsibility to try off-campus.

The students are eligible for campus placements from 6th semester. In our batch, there are totally 120 students in ECE and till previous years there were only 70 students and strength increased from batch 2019 about 85% of ECE students are placed in core companies and also in various leading IT companies in and around India. The highest salary package offered is 18LPA and the lowest is 4LPA and average salary package is 6-7LPA. Companies like Qualcomm, L&T infotech and recently sony comes for recruitment. If the student is really outstanding in all aspects then team leader post is given in a very short time. About 50% of students got an internship during college days in companies like Shasun and some places in Tamil Nadu. You can't dream of campus placements like IITs or very good NITs, still, I consider the placements in my college to be well above other colleges in the state. In our senior batch, around 80% got placed. After my degree, I am planning to go abroad for higher studies.

The fees for Pondicherry residing students is 22,000 per year and for other state students who come through Josaa (JEE cutoff) is 1,60,000 per year. The campus also provides a scholarship for needy people and we have to submit certain required documents to the respective in-charge through online or either in person through mails. For campus interviews, many famous companies like L&T infotech and other core companies for ece visits but the thing is it is very hard to get a job in the core. For pondicherry students, the government itself returns the fees paid by us through an organization called CENTAC (only for pondicherry residents). The college also has many clubs for financial assistance for needy people.

The annual fest name is PECOFES which is conducted in a very grand manner. It is conducted every year in the month of February. Many celebrities visit as a special guest and it will be very enthusiastic. The college has a very big library and very old collections of books with good and fair maintenance. Every year new books are also added. Though it is a government-funded college. All the facilities are satisfying and good enough. Each floor of our department have separate Wi-Fi routers and related academics all labs are fully furnished and equipped with modern and updated equipment with high-performance communication labs. Hostel quality is pretty good. The food we have to adjust but it Tastable and mess and canteen facilities are good. Always an ambulance is placed for emergency purpose. And PECOFES sports day is conducted every year for a month and we can enjoy it completely. They give real importance to sports. Literary club js very famous club run by students in this college.

Admission is done through online on basis of 1) Merit 2) Josaa (JEE marks) and 3)management quota.
