My journey in Assam Engineering Institution.

The duration for B.E. in Civil Engineering course in this institution is three years. Every year we had to give two semesters and a total number of six semesters in the entire course. There were plenty of class tests and laboratory works that we had to perform, which were quite hectic but at the end it was beneficial for all of us.

At the end of our sixth semester the institution had arranged summer internship program for us. To attend this internship program was mandatory for all the students. The professors of our department helped us in the internship program by interacting with the industrial experts. They also helped us in getting the recommendation letters. The institution also organised a Overseas Summer Internship, so that we can get the experience to work with the foreign companies. This program is fully sponsored by the government of Assam.

My entire course fee was 33,000 which was quite economic. The fee was pretty nominal than other engineering colleges. This fee included Tuition fee, admission fee, library, Union, festival, magazine, welfare, laboratory, training and placement cell, I.Card and many other components as well. We need not to pay any other charges for our requirements.

Our institution often arranged workshops and international conferences for the students. I had attended the National Workshop on Advances in Communication and Computing workshop which is conducted every year by the department of Electronics and Telecommunication Engineering. This workshop hosted talks by some of the reputed researchers which really helped us a lot in our academics.

My hostel fee was 8000 per year which was again pretty feasible. We had all the basic facilities inside our hostel premises. My hostel days were quite fun and happening. I made a lot of friends there, who are still in touch with me.

Our college has a alumni association which is spread around the world and it helps the institution to maintain its position by promoting interactions among the alumni, staff and the management. Apart from that our seniors were very supportive and helpful.

After qualifying in Assam Joint Lateral Entrance Exam with decent marks, I took admission in this institution since this is one of the best institutions for engineering in Assam. My admission was through a counselling which was conducted by the Directorate of Technical Education.

Our professors and all the guest lecturers were highly qualified and experienced in their domains. They were all very supportive towards us. Specially Dr. Jayanta Pathak sir and Dr. Bharati Medhi Das ma'am were very helpful.
