Remarks

I love my college days. It was the reason how I got to explore Mumbai as a city travelling from the western side to the central side by train. My days of bunking and coming on the black list but my teachers were cool and knew it was necessary to have fun and not just do studies so they created a thin line between being strict nd funny.

Course Curriculum Overview

4

The kind of teachers and the curriculum everything was just perfect under the guidelines of the Mumbai University. Well equipped labs for me to carry out experiments of neurosciences and immunology including dissections were all very great experiences during my course in Life science. There were project works given to us which we got to work on in our final year. I wanted to be a teacher so these experiences only made way to make me organised as a teacher and gave more knowledge and hands-on experience.

Placement Experience

3

I don't remember having any placements that I opted from my college because there were hardly just few and I wanted to pursue my master's degree so. The recruitments do take place wherein students have to fill up some forms and submit it to the in charges. The percentage is not disclosed. No preparation steps taken by our college.

College Events

4.5

Kalaedoscope college festival is the talk of the town and around 200 colleges participate from all over. There are also hospitality MGT festivals that take place too in the campus. Then there are many cultural festivals like the NSS camp programmes that allows us to visit and perform for the different NGOS.

Fee Structure And Facilities

Fee structure of my course was around 10,000 for the whole year as it was a girls College. Mode of payment accepted was usually when the students would pay at the fee counter.no additional fees were accepted by the college as it is run by the fathers and nuns. The school provides transparency with the different fee breakdowns.

Fees and Financial Aid

The school offered scholarships for children who come from the OBC AND other backward classes. The school fees were waived off for such kids and they had to pay for the basic expenses like books and stationary.

Campus Life

5

It was all all girls College. There were dorm or hostels for the girls who had no family in the city. The student diversity was huge because of that and all kinds of girls rich or poor were here. There was a spacious canteen for all kinds of food. A beautiful garden with a scenic view for the whole college. Labs were old school well equipped with basic necessities.

Hostel Facilities

5

I have no idea about the hostel facility of girls as I was always travelling by train from home to college and the hostelites were people who had family out of Mumbai. So as a city college girl I never kept info of the same.

Alumni/Alumna

The college seniors were real helpful and guided the junior students with their project work. They would always save us from the mistakes which we would otherwise make and so we would be safe from our teachers fury.

Admission

I wanted to do something different and unheard so I opted for Life science as only 5 places in Mumbai have this course. The factors like Sophia's has the best campus for movie shootings and a very modern crowd of good looking chicks made me choose this college.I found my name in the third merit list of the science stream and bagged the PCL combination which I preferred over the others. At first I thought it would be difficult but after seeing that there were enough seats in my combination I opted for it.

Faculty

4

The number of lecturers would be around 150. Average age of 35 with all masters and above qualifications. The lecturers were pretty versatile and always adjusting to the modernity. They were experienced teachers with great command on their subject and knew the content at the back of their mind.lifescience teachers made us all rounders.

Strong academic legacy with expereinced faculties and balanced content- preparing you for future studies and entrance exams and olympiads. very much strict, i would say not needed. somehwere you may experience baised behaviour; but when you are focused on gaining knowledge then these things dont matter as its only a matter of three years. Relevance of course is there but for applying for further studies not for that much for job prospects, if you want atleast a decent salary job.

I have rarely seen companies coming to our college for placement purposes for our course but I have seen companies coming for BCOM and BCA. I don't know about my course as I am currently in my second year. The percentage of students getting placements are veryess as my friend from third year said that out of 150 students only 10 students got placed this year which is very less compared to other colleges. My plans after getting the degree is if I got a job in any of the it company I will do it for experience and side by side I am planning to pursue my education in MSC CS
