Course Curriculum Overview
Partly case based pedagogy and a lot of group assignments. Tight schedules, with 3 terms per year and atleast 15 subjects per year. There is also an exchange program in the 5th term if the course, where you could go to a top B-School outside India, mostly Europe.
Placement Experience
The placement committe and the career development services handle the placements, and we have 100% record in summer and final placements every year.
College Events
All general events, and we have 3 major fests : VISTA, the business fest, EXIMIUS, the entrepreneurship fest, and UNMAAD, the cultural fest. Each of them are the biggest of their kind in the country and have a footfall of more than 25000. The fests are conducted by the respective clubs.
Fee Structure And Facilities
Expensive, but you get collateral free loans at the lowest rates in the industry. The program fee is mentioned before the admission and is not hiked during the course.
Fees and Financial Aid
Yes, I have availed education loan, which also covers the living cost and extra amount required for student exchange program. The rates are low and is collateral free.
Campus Life
The campus life is amazing. The campus is spread over 150 acres and full of trees which makes it hard to believe that it is inside the Bangalore city premises. There is a state of an art sports complex and a large cricket ground. The library is accessible both online as well as offline. The gender diversity is normally 30:70(G:B).
Hostel Facilities
Yes. Everyone has their own rooms, and the hostel fee is included in the program fees. There are also stores inside the campus open till late night where we could have snacks and beverages. The rooms and washrooms are cleaned every day by cleaning staff as well.
Alumni/Alumna
Being an old IIM, we do have a strong alumni network which is quite helpful. during placements and other workshops.
Admission
Writing the CAT is the first step, and once you clear the criteria prescribed by the institute, you will be called for the interview, and finally after it, they arrive at a composite score(includes your class 10, 12, graduation and work ex scores other than CAT and interview scores) and give out the calls.
Faculty
Great, among the best in the country. Being the third oldest IIM in the country, it has always had great professors, either retired industry stalwarts or graduates from top universities in the world. They usually use case based pedagogy to teach the students.
