Remarks

Only Bad thing were we, Rest were all good. We had One common thing in our mind " This is My college, My Hospital, My Library".

Course Curriculum Overview

4

Good hands on. not an institution for Reasearch purpose. but good hands on Clinically. Every year this college produces a lot of national level Doctors and Central Institute PGs and PG toppers. A Lot of Studious atmosphere is the best part of my college life.

Placement Experience

5

The place is full of natural beauties, we used to have Study tours every Years. As the Port and sea beach was just 15kms away we friends used hang out there. Late night parties, Farewell and fresher Parties, Zero night, MRC, Annual days and many more like academic functions like CME, Conferences were the integral part of my past UG medical college life.

College Events

5

CONTINUED MEDICAL EDUCATION, WORK SHOPS ON DIFFERENT SURGICAL INTERVENTIONS LIKE LAPAROSCOPY, MASTOIDECTOMY, ARTHROPLASTY etc. We used to call It 13 Festivals in 12months in our campus, haha. every month there used to be 2-3 functions. May be annual function, sports day, or Freshers, Farewell, PG Function, Convocations.

Fee Structure And Facilities

1st year 16500, 2nd year 16500, 3rd Year 10000, 4th year 10000, Final Year 5000, every year the hostel fees used to be 5000/- at the end of Final year we used to do our internship where they used to pay us 15000/- pm, A total of 180000 in a year. Govt used to give a CAFAS Scholarship of a aggregate of 50000 in 5 years. So you can Say we used to study by take money from Govt. ha ha. But We used spent a lot on Instruments and Books, The cost used to be very high. Some were like 30000.

Fees and Financial Aid

I don't remember how I availed it, Yeah we had options for Scholarship, of an Amount of 10000 pear year a total of 50000 in Entire graduation. We used to call it CAFAS. It was not regular infact there used to be a delay in some years in getting them.

Campus Life

4

Awsm, we had good bond with each other, Although there was inter hostel ravalry but it was the fun of College life, We used have Social activities like spreading awareness during National AIDS days. etc. We used to celebrate Holi, Diwali and The world famous Holy Rath Yatra.

Hostel Facilities

5

Hostel was the main place of career building in any Doctors life, Mine was nothing different. We used to study everyday in Hostel library, we had facilities like Hostel parking, Cafeteria, Cricket ground, Foot ball ground, TT table, Tennis court, Basket Ball Court, A lord Jagannath Temple, TV Room, Common Room, Discussion room, we used to stay in single rooms.

Alumni/Alumna

They were the main teachers during UG career, they help a lot during exams, they guide both academically, Social, clinically and Mentally like a true mentor.

Admission

I appeared for Premedical test that is AIPMT 2010 and got admission into this medical college as this was near to my home city, Bhubaneswar. I did self preparation, and it was tiring while preparing for two exams. AIPMT and State Board exam for 12th class.

Faculty

4

300+ faculties, with avg age of 41years, lots of JR, SR and Tutors, PG residents and Junior Interns were the best guide during my time. They teach you everything, starting from how to hold a scalpel to How to do Major procedures and field visits, Field surveillance, Immunization, Emergency trainings etc. they helped in every aspect.

Course Curriculum Overview:

The curriculum prepares the students to face the world. It provides us with a vast patient load that gives us immense knowledge. They teach us how to deal with patients in future. Areas of improvement- Some teachers just show and read out the slides which makes no sense to the 1st timer students.

Course Curriculum Overview:

The only thing that inspires me to go on despite of all the burn outs is the course curriculum. I'm absolutely in love with the course. It's sometime overwhelming that we're gonna deal with the human body tho and the way they teach us specifically the practical part of dealing with patients. Because of the affordable health care provision the patient load in our hospital is pretty good. Hence we get to learn about a lot of cases . Though I consider the learning part to be really good. I feel like there is a need of a better infrastructure in the college . The labs need to be more updated with more advanced equipments . The hostel food menu needs an upgrade too ;-(

Course Curriculum Overview:

The best thing of this college is that you started your clinical posting at very earlier which make mbbs a very pressure free curriculum. The biggest disadvantage of this 5.5 Yr curriculum is once you failed a final exam of any year you have to reappear for one more time and you will be one year back from your batch mates. And exam frequency is very late which do not give a last option to the previous batch student who had fail their exam
