MKCG: The Realm of Joy

IN MY Opinion MKCG is the best college in Odisha. It's grandeur and tradition is unmatchable. MKCG boasts of very rich traditions and senior junior culture which are not present in any other colleges.

Classes are generally from 9 to 5. Classes are held regularly with equal emphasis on theoritical and practical aspects. Ward Postings are also held regularly to give proper clinical exposure to students.

Since it is a medical college, so the internship period is in the Hospital managed by the college itself. In medical college there is no campus placement system, after internship students have to appear for various entrance exams like OPSC to get postings.

A no of fests are held in the college with much pomp and grandeur. On 31st night Garden fest is held in the college Garden "Alakananda". Annual Drama is held every year in january in the auditorium "Pratidhvani". A no of academic events like quiz, open mic, debate, poetry etc are held. The Annual function is held every year, which is a treat for eyes.

Since it is a govt college, fees are low. Generally around 20, 000-30, 000 per annum with hostel fees of 10, 000 per annum. Apart from these other occasional expenses may come to 5000-10, 000 per month. Berhampur has very low cost of living.

Scholarships are awarded by govt of odisha, and other NGOs. Special scholarships are also awarded to students belonging to SC and ST categories. Some scholarships are also awarded to students who secure honours in University proffesional exams.

Gender ratio is 60 girls every 100 boys. A no of extracurricular activities like paper presentations, workshops on various subjects are also held. MKCG boasts of a very large ground which has facilties for cricket, football. Moreover volleyball and Badminton courts are also present in various hostels. The GH1 boasts of the only basketball court in the college.

Alumni network of MKCG is very strong. Seniors are very much supportive. From exams to study material they help in each and every aspect of college life. Overall it will be a very enthralling experience to be part of MKCG.

It is because the college is rank among best medical colleges in Odisha and Also has sound infrastructure. Campus is ragging free and the college is situated in berhampur, which is welll communicated with the capital city Bhubaneswar via train, bus etc.

Faculty members are highly qualified, technically sound and well experienced. Teaching is generally digital now a days with audio-visual classrooms. Each department is headed by the seniormost Proffessor and comprises of Associate Proffesors, assistant professors and clinical tutors.
