My College- The place where I refound myself

The college management is effective and well organized. The only bad review would be that they delay a lot of events.

The course curriculum is extremely extensive, knowledge enhancing and helpful. The course is divided into a trimester of three months, constituting of 6 trimesters totally in 2 years of the course. Each trimester has different subjects and some common subjects on the basis of the specialization. We have subjects that not only help us to understand the theory of the topic but also have a practical aspect towards it. The exam pattern is of 100 marks each subject where 50 marks are dedicated for internal assessment where in live on the field and industry based projects are given that help in making us better professionals. There is proper training given that help us understand how the corporate world works and hence we secure good jobs in the campus placements. In each trimester there was an Industrial visit arranged, workshops of various kinds as well.

My college has a record of 100% placements and has a number of known companies visiting it. Off all the courses offered there are variety of companies such as Nestle, Sun pharma, Roche, Alembic, HDFC bank etc. and many others. The college also provides a mandatory 2-3 months summer internship for which campus placements are held. I am currently placed in Roche pursuing my summer placement. The College takes several mock GD's and PI's before the placement season to prepare the students. It also has an entire subject dedicated to 'corporate readiness' which deals with all the nitty gritties related to the corporate world.

Virtualities is the biggest fest celebrated by our college which is a two day event. Apart from this there are various committees in the college which keep organising various events in the entire duration. For eg. treasure hunt, traditional day etc. by the cultural committee. Sports day by the sports committee, various academic events such as quizzes and games by the academic committee. There is a team of 8 people called as the student council which is a link between the students and the teachers and are responsible for the smooth functioning of everything.

The fee structure is quite feasible and provides a good ROI. It is 5. 95 lakhs for two years and the average placement is of 6 lakh p. a and the highest in my course upto 10 lakhs. No additional fees are charged by the college and there is complete transparency in the breakdown of the fees.

I have not opted for any scholarship or loan but the college provides support and additional time in case of students who have opted for such opportunities.

The campus life in my college is most amazing. The gender ratio is equal, 50:50 girls and boys. As is it the South Indian education society there are more of south Indians but a diversity of all religions is seen. There is complete respect given to all individuals irrespective of the race, caste, colour, gender etc. of the individual. There are various competitions such as debates, singing, dancing competitions held in the college which encourage all the students to actively participate and showcase their talent. My college has great ethics and culture system which I will take with myself forever.

There is no facility of hostels in my college and I have not opted for for hostels. Although around my college there are various PG's and rented apartments. These vary from 3 to 4 basis sharing. As the area is well developed the flats and pgs are in good conditions. the rental charges vary from flat to flat and pg to pg.

The college has an exclusive Alumni committee which specially works to strengthen the relations of the college with its alumni and always keep in touch. This is very helpful as we get a chance to interact with the alumni and to listen to their experiences. There are various events arranged for the alumni specially so that they can reminiscence their old memories. Some alumni's are also invited as chief guests for felicitation and some even bring their companies for placements to the campus. My experience with respect to this especially has been great.

To get admission into SIESCOMS in a rather easy process. I chose this college as it offers the course, that is unique and my college was the first one to have started this course. I had also heard about the culture and overall environment of the college which made me shortlist it. The process for admission is easy where in first I gave my entrance exam- MH-CET. All other entrance exams scores eg. CAT, XAT etc. are applicable. After the result of the exam I filled in the online registration form of the college. Followed by which, I was sent the date and timing of the GD( group discussion) and PI (personal interview). After completion of this, I received an email of being selected.

The faculty in my college is very approachable and helpful. The average age range of the faculty in my college ranges from 40-55. 98% of the faculty of my college are doctorates and almost all of them have a minimum of 5-8 years of industry experience. Each faculty have deep knowledge regarding their subjects and use modern and interactive ways of imparting this knowledge to the students. There are 4-5 lectures on a daily basis in my college.
