Remarks

I applied for 4 colleges - VESIM, Welingkar, ITM, and SIES SBS.Out of 4, I got selected for VESIM, ITM very easily. (1) ITM - Mumbai students get admission very easily. 90,000 Rs. discount for the best candidate on the day of the admission process. No GD, only short essay and PI. Rs. 25,000 for provisional admission and will refund very late. (2) VESIM - GD, PI & Q&A with department faculty which was good. Hassel-free process. (3) Welingkars - Very lengthy 1-day process, organized. GD and PI. Very competitive. Nearly 2 months for announcing results. Waitlist candidates will have to wait very long & miss other colleges. No communication on phone, only email. (4) Got into SIES SBS through 50% South Indian Minority Quota. Chances of admission is highest if you are Tamil Bhramin but your candidature also matters. If you are not good enough, you go in waitlist. I got in first round. Waitlist students kept joining till the first week of college in mid-August. Management Quota also there.

Course Curriculum Overview

2.5

In terms of the curriculum, PGDM is the best compared to MMS. Much wider portion, very knowledgeable faculty, and all are very helpful and easily approachable. No electives are available even though it is mentioned on the site. Also SIES SBS is still in process of being approved by AICTE so there is no organization that can intervene during problems. Students are very diverse from all backgrounds. 50% are South Indians and the rest of the majority are Maharashtrians along with other folks, friendly (No impact on student interaction). In terms of teaching quality, 50% Faculty is amazing, 50% are either mediocre or poor. Not open to constructive feedback. Best faculty are from Marketing and HR. Marketing is given most importance in extra-curricular; faculty encourages students to join marketing as placement is highest and easier (But only choose as per your interest). Exam was online and written, no camera or supervision. Lengthy paper & 2 hours. Easy to pass but not easy to get highest score.

Internships Opportunities

0.5

Maximum is sales profile no matter what your specialization is. Students should apply from outside preferably. There were 2-3 good companies like SBI, GEP, and Nature's Basket but intake is very less or they back out from internship. Due to competition maximum get sales profile. There is a company named Outlook Magazine, this company should especially be avoided as they do not provide any PPO and are blacklisted by a few colleges but not by SIES because there are no other companies approaching for many reasons. There is almost 0 clarity in projects.

Placement Experience

0.5

Students are eligible for campus placement after 4th Trimester in PGDM (Course is divided into 3 trimesters per year instead of 2 semesters). Summer Internship Placements are very poor and stipend is hardly 5000rs. per month or based on commission. Maximum profiles are of sales no matter what your specialization is. I have not reached final placement process yet but maximum senior students are applying through outside the college because the companies are either not hiring or offering very poor pay. Minimum package is from 3.5 Lacs. The maximum has an average of 7 lacks. 91% students are placed (even though they mention it is 100% placement on their website). Other faculties is helpful in assissting with jobs if you have a good rapport with them. Placement Committee Faculty itself is very unapproachable and does not answer student queries properly and expects students to understand their burden and workload instead. No empathy or sympathy basically.

Fees and Financial Aid

This is a very big issue, especially for the Online "Pandemic" Batch. Rs. 9,00,000 for 2 years is current fees. No on-campus jobs. If you are from a rich family, no problem Fees were hiked by 50,000 Rs. from the previous year but Management will not reduce it by a single penny despite of knowing the hardships of students due to pandemic. Do not entertain students' requests and do not provide a single tangible compensation. The chairperson threatened that teaching will be affected if we try to fight with the management. No laptop, no books, no wifi dongle. The online student portal is very very poor in quality. The college is genuinely made lot of profit due to pandemics. Almost no Financial assistance provided. 1 student who lost a parent due to Covid was asked to leave after 1 year rather than give any fee waiver. Another who requested for fee waiver has not received any communication. If you have financial constraints and are expecting a fee waiver, you should consider another college.

Campus Life

3

This is for online batch - The annual fest is called Virtualities, conducted around March-April of first year. Books and Journals are available on Ebsco and Koha but no books are provided. Some faculty share Case Studies but only sticking to the curriculum. No Amenities of any type are provided. Cricket and sports day are available. For online batch, only online games are played. Extra-curriculurs all depend on the proactiveness of students. Various committees are available to volunteer in - CSR, Alumni Connect, Finscom, Corporate Connect, Women's Empowerment, Sports, Student Council, Cultural, etc.

Interview Experience

3.5

The students who visited campus had GD. My process was online due to lockdown so no GD, only PI. 2 seperate PI by 2 seperate faculty. PI questions were very typical - About Myself, details of work experience, Why MBA?, Any questions for the college?, 3-minute elocution if you do not have work experience. You have to apply online on their website and fill a few forms with all details + questions about Hobbies, etc. Prepare basic News and Current affairs, improve speaking confidence and choose your specialization before-hand. Even if you are not sure, choose one specialization temporarily and stick with it.

Other Applied Colleges

ITM Khargar | PGDM

Poor Quality placement, less batch size, Lower quality teaching, more importance given to marketing

VESIM | PGDM

Poor quality placement, Less batch size, Lower quality teaching, more importance given to marketing

Placement Experience:

The placement scenerio at our caollege can be described as average overall. Most recruiting company belong to the banking and supply chain sectors. Marketing students generally have better placement opportunities, while finance and HR students do get job, though the package are not very high. Buswiness analytics has limited scope as very few companies visit the campus for the roles in that domain.

Students become eligible for placements after completing 2nd semester and entering in 3rd semester. Attendance is compulsory for getting the opportunity for placements. The companies like IDBI Bank, HDFC Bank, Property pistol, Godrej Capital are available for placements. The highest paid package is 9.75 for sales and marketing. Till now( 3rd semester) 60% to 70% students are placed. There are more opportunities for sales and marketing as compared to other fields.

Course Curriculum Overview:

I did choose this course as I am genuinely interested in management and if it is healthcare management that makes me excited. There is a different teaching faculty for each and every subject. The faculties are highly qualified market professionals and experts who teach in an extremely interactive and practical way. They are very supportive. There was one exam conducted per semester which included projects and written exams.

As the college is very superior and one can take admission with complete ease as the college faculty, staff, workers are very helpful and there motive is very clear and remarkable. This college surely helps students in grooming and enhancing skill to the top.
