Remarks
I enjoyed my four years a lot in Jamia and I am yet to enjoy two more years. College life of Jamia is good. Well it is quite a pleasant life. And you get to choose what do you want to do. Either you can be the one who participates in all the fests and enjoys all the things happening around you. You can be the one who takes intrest in classes and can be regular and be a studious one. Or you can be the one who attends classes barely because they have some higher goals (like some Bcom students who prepare for ca) Whichever you are you have the independency to do so. You have a clean environment with nature all around you. Everyone is super friendly and the staff is half-full (sometimes they are like a friend if you are lucky) So you get a good environment, mostly nice teachers, friendly students. So it will be able good as you want it to be.
Course Curriculum Overview
I was admitted in civil engineering course. This is a four year, semester based degree course. I would like to mention that Civil engineering is the oldest branch of Jamia that got started during the India's Independence period. All he Faculties are highly experienced & qualified. The course is quite research driven based with a no of labs, practicals, field exercises & practical examples. You will get highly efficient lab equipment, full furnished labs, a well dedicated central library where you can clear all your classroom doubts.
Placement Experience
To be honest, as per the current scenario, Private jobs are quite less in the field of civil engineering. So not getting the dream package in Civil engineering branch is not a mistake of Jamia. Mark my words, the good thing is Jamia will make you so much technical strong that if you apply for off campus placement, you will make it. During my time (Year 2014) 12 students out of strength of 65 students got placed in L&T with package of 5.5 Lakhs per annum. Rest students got placed off campus or selected in Govt jobs/ PSU/ GATE-M-tech
Fee Structure And Facilities
Jamia is the most cheapest engineering college that you can ever imagine. The total fee of per year is 7-8 k. So you will be completing your B-Tech in just 28k. (Itne ka to Mobile le lete ho yaro). And in return you will be getting so much facilities like Free Sports facilities, GYM, Swimming pool, Central Library, AC's Classrooms, & Subsided food. If you are Non-Vegetaian, jamia is Heaven for you. Although Veg options are equally available in Canteen.
Fees and Financial Aid
I dont think any scholarship or education loan is required to study in Jamia as the fee is quite less. And lot of scholarship is available for SC/ST or Poor background students which helps them to full fill there dreams
Hostel Facilities
No. Since i was a resident of Delhi so i didn't opt for hostel. Although life of my hostel colleges were quite good. Boys and Girls hostel are quite Far. Nearly 7-8 hostels are there. SRK hostel is the best infrastructure wise.
Alumni/Alumna
Seniors are quite helpful. You will get all the hand written notes and previous year papers from seniours. They will welcome you once become part of College.
Admission
On the onset of passing 12th, i was anxious about my admission in college. Fortunately, I got admission in Jamia in the year of 2014 for the 4 year regular course of Civil engineering, although I was a lateral entry student (waiting of 166-P.S:-still remember). At that time, Jamia used to take its own written examination which is followed by Interview. Combined marks of written & Interview above the cutt off will make you get a seat in Jamia.
Faculty
Only word I have is "The Best". I would like to mention that I have also completed my Post graduation from IIT Delhi. However, I found that the faculty of Jamia is much better than IIT D. All the faculties are invited in UPSC interviews. If anyone wants to prepare for UPSC or Other Government Jobs, i would suggest to take admission in Jamia.
