Remarks

Scenic and green environment. Good quality education. Safe and clean campus. Fields are nearby and very well maintained. Numerous ways to enhance Practical knowledge about the subjects. Proximity to the main market.

Course Curriculum Overview

Syllabus was upto date and relatable to the daily life. Industrial exposure was provided by the means of industrial and educational tours. Faculty was very good especially the teachers of silviculture.

Class Size: 113Course Fees: INR 38330 per year

College Events

Sports meet and cultural meets are held every year. Three colleges of our university participate. Number of sports are organised like football, javelin throw, high jump, long jump etc. And culture items like skit, monoacts, poster making is orgainsed.

A big stadium is provided for the outdoor sports and gymnasium for all the indoor sports. Gym is also provides to the students. library is fully equipped with the new syllabus books. Wifi is also provided.

Life in Dr. YSP University Solan

Course Curriculum Overview:

I chose this course because I liked horticulture .This course is very well applied in real world in cultivation and growing of vegetables, fruits and flowers and horticulture also has job opportunities in private sector. There are some improvements like more practical learning, real world exposure etc. that could be made to make this course more effecgive in real world application. The exams are conducted per semester and the difficulty level of exams is average.

Syllabus is so vast that we continuously have to give exams . There are approximately 10 courses average in each semester We have to give practicals , mid terms and finals of each course, which is a bit hectic task.

Tit bits about the agriculture university

Course Curriculum Overview:

I chose this course as my father had studied the same course and had the same profession that I'm aiming for. For improvements i would like to recommend more practicals rather than theory classes as, practical knowledge is just as important as theoretical knowledge. The frequency of exams is a problem. There is very less gap between examinations which makes it difficult to prepare for the vast subjects. Plus, the marking is strict, and the criteria to pass the exams are also complicated.
