Remarks

It is an institute of national importance with very good reputation.I wanted to pursue Mechanical Engineering and NIT Silchar has a very good faculty of the same. Also it is in my hometown so was very convenient for me.

Course Curriculum Overview

The course syllabus was good. I feel like industrial exposure was not upto the mark, it could have been much better. The faculties were good especially the older ones. I found S.K.Pati sir the best. Also S.K. Pattanayak, D.H. Das, Agnimitra Biswas sir were very good.

College Events

The campus life is the best in our college. It regualrly holds annual tech fest Tecnoesis which is a massive fun. We also have annual cultural fest Incandescence which provides a great platform for the students to showcase their talent apart from academics. Famous celebrities are regularly invited to perform variuos events. It's an extravaganza of fun and craziness.

The sports and gym facility was very good. WiFi is stable and provides high speed internet of 100mbps. The Library built recently has a very wide range of books and it's huge in size. As far as the lab equipments are concerned the fluid lab has the best equipments, all other labs have average quality equipments.

NIT Silchar - The College of Hopes

Placement Experience:

Placements are very good enough.Eligible from 7th semester.For 2023 The average package was 9.82 LPA for our branch and the highest was 45.5 LPA. More than 150 companies visited the campus that year. The placement percentage was about 88 percent. In case I am not placed, I will pursue masters from Germany

In terms of placement it is among top 5 nit in india it's avg package is 10 lacs for cse department the average package is 24 lacs the percentage of students getting placed overall is around 85 percent and for cse it's 97 percent

Placement record is very good in NIT silchar ,in 2023 , median package of Computer science and engineering is 18 lpa and average is 24.6lpa Not only CSE placement is also good in other branches overall median of all branches is 10lpa and average is 14lpa .highest package is 80lpa So many companies come to hire students

Admission:

I always wanted to do engineering. I selected this Institute based on my performance in JEE Mains entrance. After the entrance result, JOSAA organized counselling and I got admission to NIT Silchar. Selection is done based on ranking and chosen Institute preference.

Remarks:

The fee is less as compared to other engineering college. Also the environment is good for persuing hobbies and extracurricular activities. Not much study pressure. But need to improve on infrastructure and lab facilities and the quality of teaching.

NIT Silchar Everything You need to know

I chose this collgege because it is in my homestate has a great allumni connection , great placement and highly qualified faculties. The other colleges I applied for were NIT Durgapur , AEC,NIT callicut,IIIT Pune,NIT Andhra Pradesh. NIT SIlchar has largest campus amomg all these colleges...and a great placement. I couldn't get into NIT Calicut because my rank was not good enough, I got NIT andhra Pradesh CIvil but I didn't like the branch . Underrated NIT

This is good college overall and it's placement record is far better than other private colleges and most of NIT so I choose here CSE . Is NIT Silchar a good University?

Ine josaa counseling , I had applied it for NIT Silchar and Assam University Silchar. NIT Silchar is found to be better than Assam University in various rankings like NIRF ranking etc. Students have to appear for joint entrance examination to get admission in b.tech courses in NIT Silchar.
