Being the first-ever branch in the area of smart manufacturing, this is a highly interdisciplinary one. One gets knowledge of manufacturing processes in-depth, and basics of machine design, the strength of materials along with knowledge of data structures(CSE), embedded systems(Electronics), Database management systems(CSE), Robotics and Automation(Mechatronics). Being the first of its kind, the curriculum is still evolving and definitely a good choice for the one who wished to pursue an interdisciplinary curriculum.

Placements are average. Branch wise, CSE: Far better than most of the new NITs, IITs, with the highest being 44 LPA from adobe and an average about 7-8 LPA. ECE: Not many core companies come. They get lT roles mostly with an average being 6-7 LPA. Mechanical-Design and Manufacturing: Highest of 5 LPA. Being a core company and stuck in between the automobile sector's crash and corona, the batch of 2016 has not seen much of the core mechanical companies coming to the campus. Mechanical-Smart Manufacturing: Highest being 15 LPA from Brahmos Aerospace and an average of 4.5 LPA Alumni network is not much active as the campus is young and still needs a bigger alumni network.

Campus life is above average. There is infrastructure for all kinds of sports. All major festivals of all the cultures like Onam, Pongal, Dussehra, Holi are celebrated in the campus. College annaual cultural fest Samgatha is pretty decently organised but definitely incomparable to the one's organised at older IITs level.

Yes, Merit-cum-Means scholarship. For each batch(eg, batch of 2016), 3 lakhs is funded. And from every batch, this 3 lakhs is divided and among all the eligible students criterion being student having a GPA of >= 8.0 on a scale of 10 and parental income not exceeding above 4.5 LPA.

The campus is well equipped with all kinds of sports infrastructure, 24x7 LAN facility in the hostels, Wifi facility in all the labs, library, and Admin blocks. Lab equipment is also good and being the young campus, it is still evolving and definitely achieve more in the forthcoming years.

Hostel is really a good one with occupancy not more than 2 in each room.It has world class facilities of 14 floor buildings with spacious rooms and amenities of Kitchen, gym and Washing machines. Every student has to reside inside the campus mandatorily. Campus has enough residential occupancy for all its incoming students.
