Remarks
Firstly, as a JEE Aspirant, I succeeded to clear JEE mains. However, I couldn't be able to find the desired college. Then, I come across CGC Landran through one of my friends as it takes students on the basis of the 12th class percentage. I secured 82.4% in my 12th board examination, so I fulfilled their admission criteria. I came across CGC Landran via their official website, i.e., www.cgc.edu.in. The best part of my college life was TPP (Training and Placement Programming) where we were guided with the latest programming languages, and communication skills as well as the reasoning for placements in top-notch companies. The good aspect of CGC Landran would be placements, co-curricular activities, and cooperative teachers. However, attendance came out to be the biggest disadvantage for us where teachers used to emphasise scaring students to attend the classroom for fulfilling the 75% mark. Also, the students have to stand in a long queue for getting their pending fees paid.
Course Curriculum Overview
When I came to CGC Landran for the admission process, I came to know that the seats in the B.Tech CSE were already full. Due to this, the college offered me to enrol on Electronics and Communication Engineering. I was hesitant at first just because of the fact that college provides placement for mainly the CSE section. But still, I joined the ECE program and worked on the programming part. The faculty: student ratio hovered around 1:60. The teaching methodology was quite old as they prefer those who have bookish knowledge. Most of the teachers were inexperienced, though 80% of them knows how to teach well. The term exams used to happen in the period of 6 months and were quite difficult to pass just because the university was quite strict in checking the papers.
Placement Experience
Campus placement is for those students who are in their last year. We came across campus placement when we reached the 7th semester. The eligibility criteria for the campus placement used to be B. Tech percentage, and AMCAT scores. Around 300-400 companies visited our campus. Even colleges are also giving chances to students who are still unplaced. The highest package offered was around 32 lacs per annum. Whereas, the average package came out to 6-7 lacs per annum. Job profiles were mostly for HR, Business, and technical-based profiles. Around 80-90% of students are placed and the drive is still going on. Even I got placed in Wipro with a package of 3.5 lacs per annum. However, my aim is to work hard to get better exposure in the IT industry.
Loan/ Scholarship Provisions
The cost of study hovered around 40000-43000 in the tuition fees and about 35000-37500 for the hostel fees per semester. The fee hike policy was done by the higher authorities based on the expenses or construction or other expenses happening in the college. Financial assistance was provided for the underprivileged ones. Though, they need to showcase some documents. Scholarships were meant for those who scored well in their course or in their 12th diploma.
Campus Life
Campus life was above average when compiled together. Firstly, the college regularly provides an annual fest and tech fest for the desired students to participate in their overall development. However, books and journals used to be unavailable during our exam days due to limited numbers of books. The classroom has projectors, blackboards, and proper benches and chairs for students so that they do not face problems throughout their tenure. College-motivated students to participate in sports and co-curricular activities. However, attendance was still a cause of concern when we used to participate as most of the teachers were not cooperative to mark the attendance. There were many active clubs for students so that they can perform tons of activities.
