Remarks

The infrastructure of the college is pretty nice. The faculty is highly experienced and guides you throughout the academic process. The admission process starts in the month of April. The library is fully equipped with each and every book related to the course it also has a collection of encyclopedias and other competitive exam books. The campus placements are up to the mark approximately 70 to 80 per cent of students got placed. The mess facilities for hostellers are up to the mark and provide nutritious food.

Course Curriculum Overview

4.5

I opt for BTECH ECE so that I could apply for jobs both in the corporate as well as government sectors. Faculty to student ratio was 1:30. The faculty members have all done post-graduation and some of them are highly experienced as well. There were MST 1 and MST 2 that occur during a particular semester and in the end, there were semester examinations. The teaching method was effective and help even the weak children to cope with their studies.

Internships Opportunities

4

Yes, the college offered on-campus and off-campus internship opportunities. I myself took an internship at DRDO METCALF HOUSE NEW DELHI. The students took an internship in many other companies on and around campus. 2 months included hardware training and 4 months of software training. The companies that came for placements also offered internships to many students that basically included a training period of six months and depending upon the training they get job confirmation from the company. The students took on many projects during their internships.

Placement Experience

4.5

The students become eligible for placements from the seventh semester. Highly reputed companies such as WIPRO, TCS, COGNIZANT, CAPGEMINI, AMAZON, RADISSON BLU, BIRLASOFT and many more visited to offer placements to students. In ECE there were approximately 350 students out of which around 250 got placed. The highest package offered was 32 LAKH by AMAZON. The average package was 3 to 3.5 lakh. Around 70 to 80 per cent got an offer letter in their hands. I look forward to doing post-graduation from the same institution.

Fees and Financial Aid

Fees were not taken annually it was taken on a semester basis. The fee hike took place once a year. Overall fees were less as compared to other educational institutions. The ones who become semester examination toppers were offered scholarships for the next semester.

Campus Life

4

The annual fest that took place was parivartan. It included both technical as well as cultural events. Prominent personalities of both the Punjabi film fraternity and Bollywood were called to be the chief guest. It was generally conducted in the month of September. The teachers encouraged maximum participation for students. The library is fully equipped with journals and the daily newspaper was also provided. There were books on various courses and competitive exams also. The library was 24*7. Students took part in sports and extracurricular activities that were held in INTER COLLEGE EVENTS. There were also Student unions that raised the issues related to students with the management authorities.

Hostel Facilities

4

The room was on a twin sharing basis. It came with two sets of almirah, two beds, two tables, two chairs, and a balcony. The toilet was not attached it was on a sharing basis. The mess facilities available were fine enough for students and it provided students with nutritious food. Nonveg items were available on Wednesdays. The mess in charge was very supportive and took his responsibilities with utmost care. There was no registration process for the hostel if the rooms were empty the student may get a room as per their choice. It was completely affordable as when compared to hostel and mess charges of other educational institutions.

Placement Experience:

Students start becoming eligible for campus placements from the sixth semester, and that’s when most training sessions for aptitude, coding and soft skills also begin. The placement cell is active throughout the year and brings in a mix of product-based, service-based and mid-tier tech companies. The number of offers varies every year, but CSE-related branches usually get the highest share of opportunities. Companies come for roles like software trainee, analyst, QA, support engineering and web development, so there’s a good spread of entry-level roles.

Course Curriculum Overview:

I’d rate the curriculum like 7/10 in terms of relevance and comprehensiveness — it covers all the major CSE subjects like DSA, OS, DBMS, CN, AI, ML, Cloud, Cybersecurity basics, etc., and honestly that was one of the reasons I chose this course because at least the core subjects are solid even if PTU keeps some old-school stuff in the syllabus. The curriculum does prepare you for real-world stuff, but only to a point — like, if you focus on coding labs and projects you’ll be fine for internships, but if you depend only on classroom theory then it won’t help much because industry wants hands-on skills. For higher studies also it’s okay because theory depth in subjects like OS and DBMS is decent enough. But yeah, improvements are definitely needed — some subjects feel outdated, teachers should use more practical examples, and we need more real projects instead of copy-paste lab manuals; also some faculty teach directly from slides which gets boring fast. Exams come twice per semester (sessionals) plus the final end-sem around December/May; they’re mostly easy if you write long answers, but tricky if you rely only on understanding because PTU likes theory-heavy questions. Overall, the system works, but it could be way more practical and industry-focused.

Placement Experience:

There is an option for students to opt for placements from campus in our university and if we seect that option we are given special training by the university it self in fields which we think we are weak. That include technical and non technical fields like soft skills. University also ties up with other triaining companis to train us in better way by calling tutors from outside the campus for teaching us. Over all if we consider we are already well trained by university to sit for on campus placements and we usually get a good paying job which also helps us to gain more knowledge and improve ourself.
