Remarks
It's a college that should be there in your list for sure. Be it any course.
Course Curriculum Overview
The curriculum is pretty much normal and helps you get your accounts and economics knowledge on a better level. The curriculum is decided by the Mumbai University which I think should improve. NM college is trying to get the autonomous status and then I am sure the quality of the education is going to be on the next level. There's no industry visit in Bcom but courses like BMS had industrial visits.
Placement Experience
Frankly the students don't sit for placements as they are still pursuing CA which is a long course. But the average package stands out to be 4lakhs for bcom graduate and around 5 for BMS and BAF.
College Events
There's this fest called UMANG, which is the largest in Mumbai and needs a fund of around 50 lakhs which is to be managed by students in the finance and marketing department. It's the best experience in the college and needs a lot of hard work which comes with a lot of fun too. The bonds between the students become better and they feel that they are capable Of doing something. The selection process in various committees is again a grilling process but in a student friendly manner.
Fee Structure And Facilities
The fees is 4000p. a since it's a government college. It is very affordable and it cannot get cheaper than this. Imagine spending 12000 for 3 years and getting placed for 4, 00, 000. That's more than 30times of ROI. There's no additional fees. There's no hostel and the food in the canteen is charged seperately.
Fees and Financial Aid
There's no need for scholarships as the fees for all the courses in very minimal as it's a government college. I doubt if the college has any scholarships available.
Campus Life
It's difficult to mention the gender ratio but it's almost equal. I have never felt like I am studying in a mechanical engineering branch. The crowd is highly talented and come from various part of the country and the world. Freshers doesn't happen in Bcom as there are 8 divisions with 120 students in each.
Alumni/Alumna
Some great alumini come as guest speakers but otherwise there's nothing much. The seniors are helpful and there's no issue regarding ragging.
Admission
I opted for Bcom because I was pursuing CA along with it and it's an easy course as such. I chose this Institue because its one of the most renowned college and also called as a factory of CA as majority of the students are doing CA alongside their graduation. The admission process is simple. You need to log in into the Mumbai University and get registered and then fill a form over there. Next thing you need to do is to fill the form of the college once you get registered in Mumbai University. Soon the merit list comes out and you submit the required documents and you're done.
Faculty
There were good 8-10 lecturers per division and all of them were masters of their field. Especially for accounts and cost accounting. the professors were either CA or CMA. There are 2 teachers for some subjects and they are highly experienced. Each day I got to learn something new apart from the subject too.
