Remarks

Books should be updated for mechanical stream. The skills and knowledge are outdated.

Course Curriculum Overview

The college was strict regarding final examinations which hopefully groomed us to work hard and efficiently. College provide indisputable knowledge about the engineering softwares such as autocad, solidworks. In the mean time we work on our industrial projects minor and as well as major. Moreover, college provides TPP programs to stand a interview and fetch a good job.

Placement Experience

0.5

To be honest there are lost of companies around the campus during placements time but, unfortunately only 3-4 companies offers mechanical jobs. 3000-6000 students are being placed every year from all stream. On the other hand 20-30 students from mechanical are placed. College does not offer any internships till now.

College Events

5

All cultural events such as Vaisakhi, guru purub, gandhi jayanti, children day and teachers day are celebrated. Moreover, college organise fest once every year which is open to everyone and there are several games and events to participate. For every event college provide money, certificates and prizes depends on a specific event.

Fee Structure And Facilities

College provides every mode of secure payment cash as well as digital. There is a fees of 2000? which is kept as a security deposit until an individual graduates after that he/she can take its money back. College only provide breakdown to the student whose parents need tax rebate they can acquire the certificate from the management and the breakdown of the fees.

Fees and Financial Aid

No the college does not provide any scholarships but it provides some rebates every year who top the examination in the university in specific subject.

Campus Life

Being a mechanical student i have seen 100% ratio to male in the department :(. But as far as i am concerned of the college its 60% males 40% females. College has specified clubs for cultural, sports, humanity, etc which organises fests and events according to their clubs to keeps students motivated and energetic. India is a diverse country so is the college, there are lots of different race, caste of people study and college never differentiate them on the basis of cast, creed, sex. Moreover, students from foreign studies here as well. As far as politics is concerned there are no parties no election, they only had in government college. Due to restrictions it is not allowed in or out the campus premisses. In my opinion economically almost every student is from a middle class background or business one, and economic was never the barrier of any student during the program.

Hostel Facilities

I didnt opted for hostels but somehow i visited them several times in the college time to meet my friends. A room in hostel is fully spacious with 3 beds in a room and a cooler, 3 almirahs, table and chair. The hostelers have to pay electricity bill every end of the month.

Alumni/Alumna

10% of the alumni or senior students which i know from hostel are help as they illustrate and provides a original image of the market needs and skills so that we can prepare ourselves for the better jobs.

Admission

It is a well known private uni in the northern part of india which offer courses in btech, bsc, bpharma,MBA,hotel management etc. The criteria of admission to a specific stream is based on percentage acquired by an individual in higher secondary education. I was fond of automobiles and want to pursue the same knowledge further but no nearby college was offering automobile engineering course rather then i choose mechanical engineering at its place. Before taking admission in CGC landran i prepare for IIT-JEE entrance exam in which i was not able to crack that and in that situation the only option was to remain with the private universities. Admission process for all the stream starts in between july - august depends on the course you have opted. There are two categories : 1- If u directly applied to the college, the staff will assess your percentage in higher secondary education and offer you stream that you can opt and fees will be 43000? per semester for btech. 2 - If u apply in PTU which is a university and CGC landran is affiliated to PTU, then according to your percentage the merit list is posted and then you can choose your course. The main thing is that by PTU shortlisting your fees is reduced to 13000? per semester for btech.

Faculty

4

Approx 5-7 faculty members are aloted to a single class in a semester. 2-3 of them take practical and theoretical classes and rest of them teaches theoretical subjects. Almost all teachers are qualified enough to teach any subject but if we talk about the qualifications 70% teachers did masters and have 5-7 years of experience, 30% teachers are phd holders and having 13-17 years of experience, and few of them had their projects patented. Mostly the teaching staff is 30-45 years old and the management or HODs are above 50 years.

Placement Experience:

Students start becoming eligible for campus placements from the sixth semester, and that’s when most training sessions for aptitude, coding and soft skills also begin. The placement cell is active throughout the year and brings in a mix of product-based, service-based and mid-tier tech companies. The number of offers varies every year, but CSE-related branches usually get the highest share of opportunities. Companies come for roles like software trainee, analyst, QA, support engineering and web development, so there’s a good spread of entry-level roles.

Course Curriculum Overview:

I’d rate the curriculum like 7/10 in terms of relevance and comprehensiveness — it covers all the major CSE subjects like DSA, OS, DBMS, CN, AI, ML, Cloud, Cybersecurity basics, etc., and honestly that was one of the reasons I chose this course because at least the core subjects are solid even if PTU keeps some old-school stuff in the syllabus. The curriculum does prepare you for real-world stuff, but only to a point — like, if you focus on coding labs and projects you’ll be fine for internships, but if you depend only on classroom theory then it won’t help much because industry wants hands-on skills. For higher studies also it’s okay because theory depth in subjects like OS and DBMS is decent enough. But yeah, improvements are definitely needed — some subjects feel outdated, teachers should use more practical examples, and we need more real projects instead of copy-paste lab manuals; also some faculty teach directly from slides which gets boring fast. Exams come twice per semester (sessionals) plus the final end-sem around December/May; they’re mostly easy if you write long answers, but tricky if you rely only on understanding because PTU likes theory-heavy questions. Overall, the system works, but it could be way more practical and industry-focused.

The placement of our college is good but its lack to bring big names but overall it's 3 out of 5 as it's basically focus on bringing software companies but our stream is of electronics so we donot have that much knowledge about coding so we lack to get placed this is the only disadvantage of the placement cell here

In 3rd semester a student is eligible for campus placement but it is all upto to students that they have to maintain a good cgpa and skills for interviews. In Chitkara university a good number of companies visited like Microsoft, google and they provide 100+ offerletters. 85-90 % students get placed in Chitkara university. After getting degree I firstly join to the company .

There is an option for students to opt for placements from campus in our university and if we seect that option we are given special training by the university it self in fields which we think we are weak. That include technical and non technical fields like soft skills. University also ties up with other triaining companis to train us in better way by calling tutors from outside the campus for teaching us. Over all if we consider we are already well trained by university to sit for on campus placements and we usually get a good paying job which also helps us to gain more knowledge and improve ourself.
