Amazing atmosphere to study. There's a lot of greenery and since it's Mumbai and it's raining most of the time, the college infrastructure makes it more beautiful. It's one of India's finest design colleges with experienced faculty and endless opportunities.
Course Curriculum Overview
The overall course is very challenging and competitive as well and if you have a passion for it, it's definitely worth it. B.Des: For candidates to the UG Design programs, the selection process comprises a written examination comprising of a Creative Ability Test (CAT) and General Ability Test (GAT), followed by a Situation Test to be undertaken by shortlisted candidates of the written examination.
Placement Experience
The placement in the National Institute of Fashion Technology is not that good, although there are endless opportunities to learn, grow and increase your contacts. The internship provided is much better than the placements and the stipends range from 1000-5000, depending on the internship offered.
College Events
NIFT is all about extracurricular activities and almost all the festivals are celebrated with lots of enthusiasm and zest. There are various competitions happening regularly and there are two tests named converge and spectrum that happen annually.
Fees and Financial Aid
Yes, scholarships available from the central government and state government also. after joining the course and you need to apply for it. It's under a college scheme named NIFT student merit cum scholarship.
Alumni/Alumna
The seniors are amazing and very helpful. What I believe is that you'll learn more from the seniors than you'll learn in college as they've been through everything and have more experience. NIFT seniors never fail to help you no matter what cause they understand.
Admission
NIFT entrance exam is three-tiered in its format for BDes and MDes course admissions. As part of the NIFT entrance exam 2020 for BDes and MDes admissions, candidates need to first appear for the Creative Ability Test (CAT) which is followed by a General Ability Test (GAT). The final admission round for the BDes course is a Situation Test and that for MDes is GD/PI round. On the other hand, for BFTech course admissions candidates need to appear for the GAT exam only whereas for MFTech and MFM programs candidates need to appear for GAT and GD/PI admission round.
Faculty
The faculty of Nift is very knowledgeable and knows their subjects really well. They not only teach you but also are available whenever you need them. Moreover, they suggest different sources from where we can gather information rather than just limiting the students to their information.
