Remarks
The college is really one of the best college in Mumbai. It has everything that an engineering student would need. Given the fact the college is in the middle of a busy Mumbai city, it lacks open space. But nevertheless the student find a way to spend their 4 happy years of engineering here.
Entrance Preview
The entrance examination that I had taken was MT-CET. The admission was given based on the marks of HSC Board exams and MT-CET. I scored 88% in HSC and 134/200 in MT-CET. This college is one of the best engineering colleges in Mumbai and considered one of the favourites of all the students. The admission process is systematic and hassle free.
Course Curriculum Overview
The course curriculum is according to the Mumbai University. It is rumoured that the college might become autonomous in some years. The curriculum is strictly followed and proper attention is given to cover everything as far is possible according to the students' requirements.
Internships Opportunities
Internship is not offered as of now under the Mechanical Engineering Department .It is seen that the curriculum of Production Engineering has an internship in the 7th Semester. But I am not exactly sure of the companies that come.
Placement Experience
It is seen that 100% of the students get placed whoever apply for placement through college. Generally the students here get packages better as compared to other colleges for Mechanical engineering in Mumbai. Average package for a Mechanical engineering student can be takes as around Rs. 450000.
College Events
The college has their all in one festival named Trinity. It is a 4 day festival consisting of various cultural, technical sports activities, etc. An unforgettable part of the college fest Trinity is a musical concert held every year on the last day. Music greats such as Amit Trivedi, Mohit Chauhan, Divya Kumar, Mili Nair, etc. have sung here for the students. The college also has inter-departmental cricket, badminton teams, etc.
Fee Structure And Facilities
The fee structure can be feasible or expensive according to the person applying for admission. The overall fees for a year can be considered to be around Rs. 130000, out of which usually Rs. 115000 are the tuition fees.
Loan/ Scholarship Provisions
Scholarship programs such as Narotam Sekhsaria, Dorabji Tata, etc. take place through college.I am not sure whether there is any loan facility, but there was a Tuition Fee Waiver Scheme (TFWS) for some of the students when my admission took place.
Campus Life
Campus life is indeed very good. The students here are friendly .Talking about the gender ratio, it is almost 50-50. But looking at the Mechanical department, it is funny to say that there are only 3 girls in my batch of 120-125!Many workshops, seminars, etc. take place at the college seminar hall regarding various topics. The economic status of the students is quite high, as the college is located in a posh area like Juhu, and also the fees being a bit expensive, the students are found to be from good backgrounds.
Hostel Facilities
The college does not have its own hostel, but the college next to it, Mukesh Patel, has a hostel. The college canteen is just state of the art! It just got renovated and is now no less than a fine dining restaurant! All types of food are available at a not so costly price.
Alumni/Alumna
The college seniors are good and helpful. There is no ragging taking place in college. The mechanical department has their own off roader vehicle, formula 1 car, airplane team, solar car team. The students have a great opportunity to be a part of these teams and gain practical knowledge, which is not available through books.
Exam Structure
The exams are held according to the Mumbai university pattern. Also there are two mid term tests. The exams take place systematically. All the classes are air conditioned so that the student can write their papers peacefully.
