Remarks

Being a new and devoloping University, the facilities are good and still they can accept development in sports, cultural activities

Course Curriculum Overview

4.5

The college provides opportunities for Research aspirants, with the PhD available for most of the Master's courses ongoing here. Coming directly under the jurisdiction of Central government, the exam procedures are fair and just. Job fares are conducted yearly, with quality companies come looking for brilliant minds. Field works and international, national workshops are conducted with varying streams.

Placement Experience

3

Job fairs are conducted yearly with various firms come looking for the required material. I haven't availed any internships at the institute.

College Events

4

International and national seminars, workshops etc are conducted with various departments. Arts festivals named CANKAMA are conducted yearly and sports, games joining the list. Onam( Fest6of Kerala), Christmas, Holi- nothing is missed. Film fests are often conducted and we have got our own music bands and dance troupes.

Fee Structure And Facilities

Being a central government institution, the fee structure is affordable. The fee breakdown is listed at the time of admission and everything is clear. No extra expenses are to be cleared for securing an admission. The college accepts the course fees as cash only and a valid and clear receipt is provided. The program fee was around 7000? an year

Fees and Financial Aid

I didn't opt for any scholarship programme. E - grant scholarshios are available with cashback facilities for people from caste reservations. Other scholarships are also available to students meeting the eligibility criteria.

Campus Life

4.5

The gender ratio is quite healthy with female population slightly outnumbering the males. Workshops are conducted on national and international levels. Being a central university, there is much diversity in the student population and the harmony between these differences is commendable. The games and sports are competitive with different schools compete for the championship. Politics is healthy as well, with groups working for students, adressing issues. Laboratories are well developed with modern technology taking hold of almost all streams.

Hostel Facilities

4

Yes, I reside in the university hostel named Periyar. Presently, University has 2 hostels for men and each room is shared by 3. With the fact that the college is just 10years old, the hostel seats are limited with around 80 percent allotment. Hostel mess can be improved.

Alumni/Alumna

They are quite helpfull. The common doubts and academics can be discussed with them and we are well connected. Most of the alumnis are placed and a supportive environment was created by them.

Admission

I did my Bachelor's degree in Geology and wanted to continue the Master's. I wrote the CUCET entrance exam that was conducted on May 2018 and the admission process was at around June - July 2018. Once you qualify the exam, you are called for admission in certain dates according to the rank lists. The process includes document verification, allocation of hostels and fee payment.

Faculty

4

Geology, being the opted stream of mine offers 4 faculties, each of them with PhD and 5 years of experience in any projects or lectureship. They were appointed through exams and interviews, having previously worked for Geological survey of India (GSI) AND National institute of oceanography (NIO) etc. They are interactive and clear about their subjects. Most of them are in their 40s

I choosed to study msc applied psychology in kerala university. Because it offers my interested specialization ( organizational behaviour) . The course provides three specializations - clinical , industrial and educational. As it is applied psychology it equipes us to become more practical.I wish the placement cell to be more efficient in our university. Because the placements they offers are limited

Remarks:

JEE Rank was the main factor. The facilities like hostel, labs, etc mentioned in the IIT Palakkad website. During the allotment process, one senior girl student of my branch contacted me and cleared all my doubts whether it was small or big, placement details, etc. After the rankings were released, based on the previous years cut-off ranks, I was able to get a fair idea about the colleges I would be able to join among all the IITs, NITs, IIITs. Based on JEE Mains rankings, NIT or IIITs can be chosen. Based on JEE Advance ranking, IIT can be chosen. Also, 2 mock allotment will take place which gives a fair idea of which allotment we will get. These mock allotment will be based on our preferences. We can change them after the mock. Then the actual allotment will start. Once we finalise our preferences and lock them, there will be 7 rounds of allocation. 3 options will be given in each round-Float, Freeze,Slide (details will be clearly mentioned in the website). Once you are allocated a seat in any round, document verification will take place (seat acceptance fee must be paid at this stage).
