My College review

The college is losing its past glory. If possible try to regain the glorious past.

The course is registered under the University of Burdwan. Now it is based on the semester system. The total duration is 3 years and thus 6 semesters. Each semester concludes with end semester examination. The syllabus has been upgraded to match modern education levels. One has to pass all 6 semesters for obtaining the degree.

Since this is a degree college I don't think that any such placement drive takes place. At least during my college years, I have never seen any such. But after completion of the degree, one may either opt for MSc. or can prepare for governmental jobs both fields ate open and it lies entirely on the students choice.

The year begins with Saraswati puja, the college gets entirely illuminated and decorated with dazzling lights all around. The celebration occurs for two days with cultural programs. The annual feast of the college is also well known among youngsters in our town. Then hold is celebrated by the students on the college campus. Independence day is celebrated by flag hoisting and cultural program. The cultural aspects are taken well care of in this college.

The fee is very nominal as it is a goverment college. The total fees will be around 15000 for 3 years. This charge is very nominal as compared to any other college. Even half or total fees concession is also available for economically poor students. The college fees are taken by offline method twice a year.

I haven't. But several fellowships are available. Generally, fellowships are given based on economic conditions. But few merit-based fellowships are also available.

The Campus is quiet in general and lots of trees are present making it pleasant in the summer weather. Labs are well equipped with the necessary equipment. Sports activities take place every day. A dedicated PT instructor is also present. Robotic are not taught here.

No, I didn't opt for the hostel as my residence is not too far from the college. The problem faced in hostels is a bit of concern for every new student in the hostel. Hostel needs to be modernized with better lighting and bathroom facilities.

The alumni network is very supportive, active, and helpful. They are involved in several welfare activities.

I filled the application form and based on merit i.e, marks obtained in class 12 I got admission to this college. Now admission is organized online. So one has to apply online and then based on their merit college will be given. If your marks are very good then only you can expect admission to this college.

The faculties are very good. They are selected through WBPSC. Also, the teachers are very helpful and offer good guidance for growing interest in the subject opted. Specifically, science streams are very well known in this college. Every faculty member sincerely does their job and tey to provide everything needed for a student's better understanding.
