Remarks

The life at BITS teaches you not just to be an expert in your field but to be an expert in how you live. It develops your confidence, gives a many opportunities in different fields, so dont be surprised if you dont end up doing the job of your course.

Entrance Preview

BITSAT. I scored 306 in this test. Except Electronics and Communication, I had all other branches available to choose from. I was not into coding and physics interested me in my 11th and 12th so i chose EEE. I choose BITS Pilani Hyderabad specifically over Pilani and Goa Campus as i am from hyderabad and after some research also found that the quality here is on par with that of pilani or goa campus.

Course Curriculum Overview

4

Course curriculum was decently paced but tough. EEE is supposedly the toughest courses of all engineering courses. The faculty is good and helpful. They encourage you if you show interest. The faculty though good is not that experienced.Practicals conducted are very helpful and the campus has very good facilities for good experiments to give you a hand on experience. Though i would also add that teaching is not research oriented.

Internships Opportunities

There are 2 compulsory internships we go as students of BITS. The first one is after the second year for 2 months. The second is for 5-6 months, either in your first or second semester in 4th year.1st internship: CLRI, Chennai. No stipend. Experience was Okish as we were exposed to the basic electrical systems. It was more of an exposure to the workings in a real world scenario.2nd intership: POLMON Instruments Pvt LTD, Hyderabad. Stipend: Rs. 10000/-. Bad experience. The staff knowledge was poor and the job atmosphere was stringent. My stipend was more than most of the employees salaries with experience of more than 2-3 years. It was plainly sad.

Placement Experience

3.5

Around 70% of the students were placed. The highest offered CTC in India was 22 LPA offered by Amazon and outside india was $55000 by EPIC Systems. There were a lot of opportunities for students from all fields. Though core companies that visited the campus were very few as is the case with any other college. The college prepares you well for the job interviews too.

College Events

5

BITS has a very grand and a very beautiful cultural festival called PEARL. Colleges from all over india participate. There is one International Band performance, one Indian band performance, a very grand fashion show and a lot of other activities to keep you going 24 hours, it being an all day all night fest. The Tech Fest is ATMOS. The popularity of ATMOS is increasing day by day. You can see the technical creativity blooming here. Besides technical, there are a lot of managerial/start up related lectures and events to participate in.Participation in both the events is huge.

Fees and Financial Aid

Many scholarships are provided by the institute itself. There is a Merit Cum Need Scholarships which as many as 200 of the 650-700 students avail in a batch. For different categories, fees is waived from 25% to 100%.

Campus Life

5

Campus life is simply awesome. There are so many activities happening every now and then. Sports, music, dance, drama, literature etc everything is encouraged here.Gender ratios is a little skewed. As the college has purely merit based selection, the girls/boys intake cannot be judged or guessed.During the time of elections, it is a sight to watch. Campaigns of every candidate are passionate. You can feel the intensity and the politics all around you.

Hostel Facilities

4

The hostels are awesome! Each student has a single room. The corridors are clean and tidy. Everything is well maintained. 4/5.Fees is a little on the higher side but justified for all the facilities you are provided with. There are a lot of scholarships g

Alumni/Alumna

Seniors are really helpful. There are a lot of groups and activities that lets you connect with your alumni. During fests, many students present their idea and there is a very high probability of it being funded by one of the alumni. BITS Pilani alumni power is obviously a very positive and to be noted criteria of BITS.

Placement Experience:

From 4th sem itself students are eligible for placements. Although students get access to paid internships from their 1st year itself, just they need some effort. But as NIAT is yet new and no batch has passed out yet so we still don't have the exact placement percentage rate. But as we are getting paid internships from 1st year itself so it's very evident that placement would also be good

Placement Experience:

No batch has graduated yet so there's no record of placement data yet. But more than 200 students got internships. Also the unique point of NIAT is students gets internships from their 1st year itself. NIAT has connection in the industry also its unique teaching style, this allows 1st year students to get internships. Although there is no pass out batch yet, still many people got placed in good companies.

Course Curriculum Overview:

My college course curriculum is outdated .As im studying in computer science and engineering,i wpuld love to study about technological aspects and grow as a software engineering but in the course curriculam they teach my about mechanical workshops,There were no practical experience it jsut understanding the concept with theoritical part . i would love lo code but my college wastes entire time by helping with electricals, meachanical basics. i dont think is it really necessary for me understand in all the feilds they think that student should perform in all the fields as im in computer science and engineering student ,They should teach me more about coding and computer ,how it industries works and how these technology enhacning ,the arenot even explore about all these sectos they only teaching me about fundametals of all the subjects which is never useful for my studies . as i am in final year of btech i thought learning and deepdiving into computerscience and engineering subjects is more greater than learning all sector fundamentals,The area they need to improve is removing some of the oudated syllabus from their ciricullum and enhcing with the pratical experience not to teach only theoritical part. they have to teach all the areas with realtime examples. The timings of exams is very good .we do have 2 mid exams and one semester final exams for each sem and the subjects feels meduim level difficulty

Placement Experience:

Students become eligible for campus placements after their 6th semester. The companies start visiting in 7th and 8th semesters. The companies are not much good and are mostly service based. So the placement statistics are also not much good. The highest placement last year was 10 lpa and the median placement was around 4.1 lpa. The placements were starting from 2.5 lpa. The better option for students is to apply for off-campus placements or start preparing for competitive exams
