Remarks

The college management could be more responsive to students as you need to start a full fledge protest in order for them to hear you.

Course Curriculum Overview

3.5

The course was some what not what industry required these days though some teachers do try to keep up the needs of the market. The pure sciences are more research driven than the engineering branches. There are mostly two components for the evaluation that is open book and close book exams, which is self explanatory. Some instructor might keep a surprise evaluation for which you need to attend the class and can be held anytime. Other than that there is a mid-semeter and final semester exam.

Placement Experience

4.5

The placement scenario in my college is far better than any other 2 tier college especially for IT jobs. Even if you know tye basics you will surely get placed. The highest this year was 50lpa and you can at least expect 8lpa. We have a system of PS where the college provide mandatory interships to students.

College Events

2.5

We have 3 major festivals i.e. pearl, the culture fest, atmos, technical fest, and arena, the sports fest. The latter ones are less popular and big than the former. Alongside we have a few minor fests such as verba maximus which is the literary fest.

Fee Structure And Facilities

The fees are very expensive not easily affordable. This year my fees for entire year was 4.5 lacs excluding books and other personal expenses. Facility of loan is there though. The college does not show any advancement in accepting other mode of payment. Only the tradition neft and credit/debit card can be used.

Fees and Financial Aid

There is a special scholarship for students whose parental income is not high which is disbursed according to merit. You need to provide your parents itr v in the office and an application form provided on the college website.

Campus Life

3.5

The college life pretty much depends on how you want it to be. You can stay in your room and no one will bother or you can join various clubs and become popular. We have facility of mostly every sports or activity inside the campus. The campus itself is pretty far from the city which makes students to mostly reside in the college for many days.

Hostel Facilities

3

Day scholarship is not provided by the college. You need to share rooms in first year after that you get a single room. The hostels are pretty clean and proper maintenance is done. But the administration is not flexible with any other installment such as air conditioner in rooms.

Alumni/Alumna

There is a strong alumni network and you can surely expect help in any part of the world. The alumni are known to give huge donation to the college.

Admission

I gave the bitsat exam which is the entrance exam for bits pilani and some other universities just a day after my jee advance exam on 25may 2016. The scores are display just after you submit your paper. The exam is online and my centre was in mohali. There were 5 iteration after that through which the cutoff for various courses is decided. One needs to send an acknowledgement to pilani along with a fee of 1500Rs to the main campus administration. After the iteration if you are selected you need to pay the tuition fee which in case you do not wish to study in bits gets refunded after 2 months. Then after this process is over you have to visit the campus which you have got and in some cases a 5th iteration is held.

Faculty

3.5

The faculty in my college are well read and have all the relevant knowledge, exceptions are there though, but most of them are not able to make the environment more engaging or are very proudy or they are not able to teach properly which leads to students not attending classes. A few faculties are running some brilliant projects and actually care about the students but they are in minority

Course Curriculum Overview:

I like that the course doesn't feel outdated. Along with the regular subjects we spend a lot of time on coding, projects, and problem solving so it feels connected to what companies actually expect. As a second year student i already feel like i am building skills that i will be able to use during internships and placements and not just preparing for semester exams

Placement Experience:

No batch has graduated yet so there's no record of placement data yet. But more than 200 students got internships. Also the unique point of NIAT is students gets internships from their 1st year itself. NIAT has connection in the industry also its unique teaching style, this allows 1st year students to get internships. Although there is no pass out batch yet, still many people got placed in good companies.

Course Curriculum Overview:

My college course curriculum is outdated .As im studying in computer science and engineering,i wpuld love to study about technological aspects and grow as a software engineering but in the course curriculam they teach my about mechanical workshops,There were no practical experience it jsut understanding the concept with theoritical part . i would love lo code but my college wastes entire time by helping with electricals, meachanical basics. i dont think is it really necessary for me understand in all the feilds they think that student should perform in all the fields as im in computer science and engineering student ,They should teach me more about coding and computer ,how it industries works and how these technology enhacning ,the arenot even explore about all these sectos they only teaching me about fundametals of all the subjects which is never useful for my studies . as i am in final year of btech i thought learning and deepdiving into computerscience and engineering subjects is more greater than learning all sector fundamentals,The area they need to improve is removing some of the oudated syllabus from their ciricullum and enhcing with the pratical experience not to teach only theoritical part. they have to teach all the areas with realtime examples. The timings of exams is very good .we do have 2 mid exams and one semester final exams for each sem and the subjects feels meduim level difficulty

Placement Experience:

The placements are comparatively more in this college, as there is more industry exposure. Students are eligible for placements from around 3-2 (3rd yr-II sem) to 4-2 (4th yr- II sem). Companies like Amazon, Cognizant, NCR often visit the campus. The highest package offered last year was 1.2 cr (International offer). Around 90% students who were eligible got placement. My plan is to get a decent package after the degree.

Placement cell is least active.. Few good companies like Infosys, amazon, TCS etc visited but the average package is of 1-2 LPA and only 25-30% of students whose all exams are cleared can sit in the placement cell. The highest package is of 8LPA. My plan is to move abroad for higher studies.. The students after completion of 6th sem can sit in placement cell

Students become eligible for campus placements after their 6th semester. The companies start visiting in 7th and 8th semesters. The companies are not much good and are mostly service based. So the placement statistics are also not much good. The highest placement last year was 10 lpa and the median placement was around 4.1 lpa. The placements were starting from 2.5 lpa. The better option for students is to apply for off-campus placements or start preparing for competitive exams
