Remarks

The college generally covers all aspects and ameneties in positive manner. Although it sometime enforce strict rules in order to make student focus more on academics and less on extra curricular activities. During the time of submissions some faculty may take more time to verify all assignments. Rest the college is very good in all aspects whether it comes to academics, placements, sports or any activities. The college help many students won hackathon in big institutes like IIT. Apart from all these being an army college it helps maintain student with discipline and etiquette.

Course Curriculum Overview

4.5

The course curriculum is well structured and well planned based on every semester. With the student maturity the subjects are maintained particularly for each semester. For each semester there are five subjects out of which some are divided into theory and practicals. There are some subjects which are specifically groomed to provide industry specific knowledge like communication system and hardware programming. There are industrial visits for each semester or one for two semesters. These industrial visits, curriculum courses, workshops and value added courses are very helpful in campus placements.

Placement Experience

5

The placement rate here is very high. Most of the students generally get placed in some company. Many companies like Microsoft,Bosch, continental, Deloitte, ZS, Oracle, TCS,Tech mahindra, capgemini etc visit this prestigious institute. The companies that visit the institute are generally IT based or consultancy as Pune is an IT hub. Most companies first conduct an aptitude test generally through emcat to filter the capable students to test there skills in problem solving. There were two to three technical rounds to test an individual's technical skills and finally hr round. Tentatively 95% and above get placed in company and some pursue higher education through ME or MBA. The institute take special measures for students to get placed in good corporate companies. Many sessions are held for enhancing aptitude skills. Value added courses are availed by the institute. Also seminars are organised for better achievements.

College Events

5

There are all sorts of fest organised by college whether it is sports, technical or cultural. Technical fest called "SOLUTIONS", sports fest called "PACE" and cultural fest called "AKRITI" are organised every year with an active and huge participation from different other colleges of Pune. Due to big prize money and merchandise many reputed institutes of Pune take part in the fest enthusiastically. The cultural fest here is worth seeing.

Fee Structure And Facilities

The fee structure here is feasible. The fee consist of tuition fee or academics, hostel fee, mess fee, internet, value added course fee and miscellaneous like laundry and hair cutting. The payments can be accepted either through online or demand draft (DD). There are no additional fee applicable for secure admission to the course. All that matters is only the merit of student. The college provides complete transparency in terms of fee.

Fees and Financial Aid

The college provides a lot of scholarships to students. These scholarships are based on students performance in academics. There are different scholarships like AGIF, ZS scholarship, merit cum means scholarship, Tata merit and lot more. I had opted for AGIF scholarship when I completed my second year. I had scored 9 cgpa due to which I got merit and availed a scholarship of 40000. One can avail scholarship of 15000 by securing first position in a particular discipline or course. For every scholarship one has to fill a form of that particular scholarship and avail all related documents like marksheet, ID, a blank cheque etc.

Campus Life

4.5

The gender ratio (boy:girls) here is 6:1. The college obviously facilitates co-ed education. By taking permission one can celebrate party inside the campus. The parties are organised on different occasions like foundation day, branch winning party and a lot more. Sometimes faculty also give treat on their behalf. The labs here are well equipped and maintained. Lab attendants are also very experienced. There are also labs sponsored by companies like nvidea, robu, dessault etc. Different activities are organised to involve students in extracurricular activities and to improve their skills in particular domain many workshops are availed. There are also many clubs like nature, maths, debate, oss, rubiks and lot more to engage students in different stuffs. There are spacious grounds and well furnished courts for different sports. From indoor to outdoor there is an availability of every stuffs for every sports and games. In the evening both boys and girls are involved in cultural activities like singing, dancing, art, jam etc. Students here are very good at debate especially girls. Many had brought laurels to the institute by winning inter state debate competition. There is a national based robotics competition called "ROBOCON" in which this college has performed very well. The institute generally holds top 10 in robotics competition. The work culture in robotics here is very passionate and enthusiastic. All branches together combine their work to showcase their interdisciplinary capability. The college being and army based constitutes students from all parts of country and hence involves all caste and religion students. Due to good discipline all live inside the campus with love and harmony. There is no discrimination and prejudice among the students and are helping to everyone in all aspects.

Hostel Facilities

5

I had opted for hostel. The hostel here are inside the campus and are well maintained. There is different building for different year students. Boys and girls hostel are at different and apart and not combined. There are three types of room. Single for one student, double for two student sharing and triple for three student sharing. Based in the type rooms are of different sizes. There are more triple rooms compared to other types for first, second and third year students while more single rooms in fourth year hostel building. The rooms are big enough for students to have their all goods and baggages kept comfortably. There is a table, chair, closet, cupboard and dustbin availed to each and every student in a room. There is always cleaning of room by sweepers. The hostel building consist of four floors- ground, first, second and third. In each flank there is water coolers with purifier. The washrooms and bathrooms are also well maintained and cleaned everyday. There is no scarcity of water. The terrace also consist of dome or chamber where a student can study alone without any disturbances. Since the number of students enrolling for the courses combined is 300. The are enough room for every students. For first year students staying in hostel is compulsory while for other year students it is their choice whether to be a hosteler or day scholar.

Alumni/Alumna

There is a good network among the seniors and alumni. Infact alumni meeting is held every year where a student can interact and exchange their ideas among their alumni. Alumni are also very cooperative and generous enough to fund startups, initiatives and fest. Some seniors being our mentor guide us well to be a better engineer and achieve more. The alumni are connected to all through a Facebook group where one can ask and provide advices and suggestions. I had also interacted to an alumni once where he suggested me to hone and enhance different skills which are very necessary in corporate sector. He also provided me with his experience in corporate sector and ways to deal with different situation. This interaction gave me a good clarity in order to expand my horizons and to perform good in any field.

Admission

For one to enter into this institute one had to give JEE mains exam and should be a ward of an army personal only(serving or retired). An application for entering into the institute had to be applied with a 500 rupees fee. Based on the JEE mains score and percentage obtained in class 12th a merit list is generated. On the basis of merit the candidate will be called for counselling. It is a three day process. There were four branches. I selected electronics and telecommunication due to its versatility in corporate and public sector. Also I had had always in my mind that I will persue a course which deals with both hardware and software. Electronics and telecommunication is such branch where one can get experience of both firmware and software and it is fun as well. With the growing trend IoT one must opt for this course.

Faculty

4.5

The faculties here are highly experienced and well qualified. There are around 80-100 lecture of one hr each taken by each faculty. Based on the length of subject number of lectures may vary. The average age of faculty are 40 and above and most of them hold doctorate in particular field. There are masters holder who are highly experienced and qualified. Some faculty also has other technical expertise which help students develop a lot. Some faculty are even NIT graduate. The faculty uses white board for explaining subject and projector for even better and clear understanding. There are time to time assessment and workshops for all the faculties to enhance their skills in better teaching and understanding of subject. For inculcating students with better understanding a handson workshop or industry visit is sometime arranged by faculties.

Course Curriculum Overview:

Soo ever since kid i was interested in bikes this interest was all for me to take this course , my father is very bike enthusiast and it came down to me , i could easily take mechanical and other engineering cause these are common courses which involves automobile , but since i wanted to follow my passion , i wanted to do specialization in automobile itself and DPCOE was offering this course with great facilities and knowledge providing us a path in this lane of career in this field. According to me curriculum prepares us quite well as they conduct workshop which are relevant to outside world where we'll be working. If there were more practical workshops for us to work on would be great cause automobile engineering is all about practicals rather than theoroticals Professor should try teaching in physical part rather than taking lectures and explaining the concept by just words

Yes there is placement cell of STES which is no different than other tier 3 engineering colleges offering a tier 3 average package depending on who is the recruiter. Students become eligible for campus from 3rd year of their degree. Highest package is something around 55 lakhs offered to a computer engineering student, and average is just like I said for a tier 3 college 5-6 lakhs(above or below). Almost everyone gets placed in the company but some might not.
